I've been keeping up with my exercise which is the ONLY reason I have not gained 10 lbs. I have eaten cakes, cookies, brownies, every cheesy and buttery casserole you can imagine, loaves of different types of bread, more sugar, more cheese, blah, blah...not to mention all the champagne and other cocktails. Whew...

As much as I love the holidays (and I really do :) I am so very glad they're over!

Re: Motivation Monday: you CAN

My Granny's favorite saying is "Can't never Could" and it's so true! We can do anything we make up our minds to do!

Re: True Confessions Monday

I'm with you on needing a do over... So, here goes!

1. I only worked out once last week. I'd like to blame it on the fact that it's been freezing cold in Texas and i'm not accustomed to being out in that kind of weather but really that just my way of saying that I was lazy last week.

2. This weekend was our annual girls trip to the beach. It involved the following: vodka, champagne, chocolate, cookies, more vodka, more champagne, more chocolate, more cookies and it just gets worse from there.

3. I gained 4 lbs. Blah!

4. I'm already dreading this week because I have three parties to attend which normally leads to me eating like crap and that's not even counting the calories in liquor.

5. I am being my usual self and procrastinating Christmas shopping.

Re: True Confessions

Here goes...

1. We had 10 different casseroles as side dishes on Thanksgiving. In those casseroles we used 2.5 lbs. of butter- yes, that is 10 sticks of REAL butter!!

2. My Granny is not in very good health and so this year I made most of Thanksgiving dinner. I have never understood what my Granny has said all these years "You're not hungry if you have to cook the meal". Now I get it!

3. I went to boot camp 3 times last week.

4. I did not gain or loose any weight last week so i'm chalking that up to a win!

5. Chocolate chip cookies are evil :(

6. I have totally neglected my blog.

Re: Skinny Cow Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches = MMmmm

The strawberry ice cream sandwiches and the caramel cones are lifesavers. They have kept me from jumping off the sweet tooth cliff more times than I would like to admit. I also really like the Weight Watchers giant fudge bars.

Re: Thoughts on Sweeteners + Day 3 Giveaway!!

I use Sweet n' Low. I know it's probably made from melted plastic but I am somewhat addicted to the taste. I know several people that use Stevia but I have tried just about every kind of natural sweetener and don't like the taste of any. Weirdly enough when I am cooking I use Splenda and the taste is fine but when it comes to coffee, tea, etc... it's Sweet n' Low all the way for me!

Re: True Confessions!

This was one of those weeks where I should just confess to everything because there were not much good in the eating/exercising area of my life. However, I did go back to boot camp this morning so that's one positive thing.

All I have to say is that if Halloween is any indication of how my food willpower is going to hold up through the holidays then God help me, I need to stay home and forget they exist!

Re: Could You Help Me With a Project

Good job Violet...loved your poem :)!

Re: True Confessions Monday

Not one of my better weeks...

http://journeytothesmallers...

Re: May I Take Your Order?

#4 is so true. When I first starting dieting I went to Johnny Carino's one day for lunch and ordered a side wedge salad and that was all I had for lunch. When I left I was still hungry and later learned that it had 794 calories!!! I love blue cheese and homemade Ranch but those things are just not part of my daily life any longer.

Re: Exercise Challenge for Those Who Are Not Running!

This is definitely something I can get on board with! Thank goodness my levels are normal but it's time for my yearly blood work. Although, I must admit that I was really nervous the first time I got tested. Just what I need is another thing to worry about...like loosing 100 lbs. is not enough! ;)

Re: Why does being Healthy have to be so Damn Hard?

How awesome that you shared your story Michele! I am working really hard right now to loose weight and I know just how hard it is to "be healthy" but YOU CAN DO IT! :)

Re: Do You Reuse?

I love my reusable bags!!! I use them at the grocery store, Wal-Mart, when I travel for dirty clothes, etc... I have them in every shape and size you can image and even ones that are insulated for frozen foods. Right now my HEB has the cutest ones with Halloween designs :) The trick to remembering to use them for me is that they stay in my trunk unless i'm using them and when i'm done they have to right back. I'm just shopping for one but I usually fill 2-3 per week at the store and it's nice because I can carry them all in from the car in one trip.
