I live by lists. Being an entrepreneur and a mom of six, it's the only way to keep my sanity. The joy of crossing those things off is so powerful, yet the reality of always having things undone can be very deflating if you don't have a good perspective on your list.

I really like the way you've prioritized things with your lists, it's similar to what I do and actually helps me feel good about the things that are undone. It forces you to reevaluate and prioritize, which frees up space in your life. Thanks for sharing, you've got me thinking about how I can be even more productive!

Re: How to Keep Strong During a Difficult Season of Life

What a great post, thank you for sharing. I too find that writing it out helps a lot, but like you I often struggle to write it out. (Not sure what that's all about!) We definitely have to respect the seasons of life and recognize and learn from the lessons we are given during the "winter." All of your tips are right on point from my experience. I'm cheering for you to get unstuck, and look forward to reading about that too!

Re: Planning and Accountability for Entrepreneurs

It's hard to say what the real effects of Facebook's new algorithm will be, but it's a great example to make your point. If you have a plan, never put all your eggs in one basket (especially when that basket is a forum you have zero control over!), and stick with it, then you won't panic when changes like this pop up. If there's one thing you can be guaranteed as an entrepreneur, it's that things will change :)

Re: Valentine’s Day Date Ideas for Parents

Thanks Jasmine, I like the way you think here. There's always the expectation that Valentine's Day has to be a big dramatic (expensive!) celebration, but the truth is, that's not what makes it special and meaningful. It's more about spending quality time together. Your ideas here are simple, yet have the potential for creating great memories. I really like the recreate your first date at home idea.

Re: 25 Prayers And 29 Mantras For Living Beautifully

Thanks for sharing all of this Liz. This is the purest reflection of what history seems to teach us about Jesus that I've ever read, thank you. This is a Jesus I could hang out with! Beautiful and heart-warming reading for a Christmas morning.

Re: 10 Top Google Plus Tools for Digital Marketers

I would take PlusClout off your list, it hasn't worked for quite some time now. I'm also a work-at-home mom and I never cease to be amazed at the number of similarities all of our stories have.

What your story does for me is make clear that there really is no good or easy answer to the question of how do you make it work before things start going your way. You just put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Those who do that, and are bright enough to redirect if they find themselves going in the wrong direction, WILL eventually make it. That's something I should have known through experience, but thanks for helping me to unveil it.

Re: How to Manage Time Like Crystal Paine of MoneySavingMom.com

Excellent interview Robert. As always, I love the authenticity and enthusiasm you have. There is another type of interview I'd like to see more of (since you asked). People are always interviewed after they've "made it," and they always talk about how they make it work. And what I'm thinking is "great for her, but I have 3 kids, no husband, and not enough income to justify a full time assistant to take care of my kids AND a team to help run my business."

I am fortunate enough to be able to outsource some of my business, but not what I need to be able to take it to the next level. I'd like to hear more from people who've gotten over the hump about what they did BEFORE they had enough money to make everything happen.

I feel blessed to have a tiny team helping me. Many of my clients can't afford any outsourcing, and I am always looking for more ways that they can actually implement to help them grow their businesses. I am not at all trying to minimize the great things Crystal has done and is doing, it's just not a realistic plan for many people right now. I'd like to hear her back story. What did she do before all the help came along? Food for thought for a future interview I hope!

Re: Transform Your Body with Intention

I think this is the number one reason people fail at their health and fitness goals Carl. They want a magical quick fix that doesn't really interrupt their life. They fail to set a long term intention for living a healthy lifestyle. And usually, it takes a long time before they really want it bad enough to have the intention and follow through. This is a great article and realistic view of what it takes to be successful in any area of your life, thanks!

Re: Is Spanking Your Child Ever Warranted?

Completely agree Denny, I love this article ~ It should be made into a billboard. What I see (that you pointed out), is that spanking is the "easy" way out. Yes, there is a better way, and it is harder, and often means that your children seemingly aren't as well behaved as others who are disciplined through fear. But, in the end, you are doing both yourself and your child a huge disservice by spanking. Spanking is child abuse and it breaks my heart that kids are exposed to it constantly.

Re: I’m Gonna Find Me a Boyfriend: Relationship-readiness at Its Best by @howcanufindlove

Love your focus on the Law of Attraction when it comes to relationships Lorii. I especially like #7! A very small percentage of the world is attracted to the life of an entrepreneur, and only a tiny fraction of that population has the stomach and enough tissues to actually make an extraordinary life out of it.

I wrote an article called 5 Signs that You Might Not Be an Entrepreneur once. Instead of discouraging some, they seemed compelled to tell me I was wrong. I'd love to follow their story and see if I was in fact wrong. So many people paint a bright and rosy picture in an effort to get others to buy their "get rich the quick and easy way" stuff. Most people go into it with no clue of the pain they're about to endure. Your realistic take on it is refreshing and necessary. And, I'm with you (and I love this line) ~ the world needs less passionless entrepreneurs. Maybe you've succeeded in weeding out a few!

Re: No Excuses, Just Do it Already

Love your no-nonsense approach Carl, and you are "right on" about everything you say. If you care about your health and your fitness, you'll just make time to do it. There's never time to do it unless you make it! The thing about exercise that people who don't exercise don't get is it's SO good for every area of your life. Mentally, emotionally, physically you feel better and can perform better in every area of your life if you make exercise a habit. I hope your article will make some people think hard, and then act.

Re: 3 Main Components to Law of Attraction Parenting

I love this Denny, as always. The way we think is so important to how we react to things our kids do, and in turn how THEY react. I have become very conscious of looking at my kids and thinking about how much I love them and how awesome they are before I react to the horrible and frustrating thing they've just done. Your advice is also great when it comes to shedding the labels others try to put on your kids that may limit their ability to grow into their fullest potential.

Re: Traditions How They Impact Your Child’s Self-esteem

Thanks Denny, this is something I need to be more conscious of. I know we have some traditions that have developed just because it's the way we do things, but you have inspired me to be more intentional. Creating good memories is so important. As a regular gym-goer for many years I can certainly attest to how quickly people fail at the health/fitness resolutions. You can't find a parking spot in January, but by March, things are back to normal. As a member of your Inner Circle, I have made a lot of positive changes in my eating that go along nicely with my workout routine. I'm still struggling with sugar, but I know you'll help me get that one kicked this year!

Re: Did LinkedIn Just Kill Its Value?

Thanks, I couldn't have said it better. After living with this feature for a couple of months I see it adding no value to LI. Instead, it's distracting and irrelevant in my opinion. I feel like when someone writes you a recommendation, they mean it. Endorsements carry about as much weight as +Ks in my eyes, which is zero.

Re: 3 Tips for Balancing Family and Work

So glad my kids go to a private school . . . and, since I'm there every day, I wouldn't mind picking up report cards (although they aren't given at our school). But, I must say, that if I wasn't there every day, I would not be happy about having to go pick it up. Just mail it to me. In the grand scheme of work/life balance, it seems like a huge waste of time to have me spend time I could be playing with my kids, driving to their school instead. The problem with this solution is there's nothing you can do to make parents care. They either do, or they don't. Making them drive to school is not going to help.

Now, as to the rest of your article, I love it. These are great ideas that I really need to adapt to my kids. I always think of them as being too young to really help, but I know they could do age appropriate things. What I need to get over is my attitude that it's easier for me to just do it myself. Thanks for giving me something to think about, your advice is always so practical and timely.

Re: Social Media Users Beware

Oh you said it Mandy, seeing this kind of stuff drives me crazy. People/businesses are paying good money to be led astray by "social media managers" whose only qualifications are that have a Twitter and Facebook account. Some of the people I know online have suddenly announced that they are "social media managers" and it just makes me shake my head because I don't even see them managing their own stuff effectively. The problem is that it's a wide open market right now and the demand is so high that people see it as an easy way to make money. I'm so happy to see you doing good stuff and spreading the good word about the right way to manage social media.

Re: 8 Indispensable Tools to Improve Your Social Media Efficiency

Great article Ian, thank you. So many people are too far into the numbers on Twitter. I don't care how many followers you have! I'm just looking for people to build relationships with . . . When I was cleaning out my Twitter the other day I unfollowed 2 people who weren't following me back despite having the #teamfollowback in their bio. This is something I've thought about before since my kids are a mixture of birth and adopted, but I must say this fact has made no difference to me. I agree with you about the word "favorite," I think it's a misuse of how most people are really feeling. On many days, I have a "favorite" child of the day (or hour!), and there are certain strengths that each child has that makes one of them my "favorite" in certain situations. Ultimately, they are each my "favorite" in their own unique way!

Re: Social Media Q&A, Episode 12: What Kind of Information are People Looking for on Facebook Pages?

Great points Mandy, thanks.
