They are guided by the way and the era they were raised in.

With very few exceptions (usually catastrophic in nature) are there changes to this mantra and modality.

The big question is ... is he world ready to back to the 50's?

The simple answer is no.

Re: Marching Orders 2017: 'P2P as a Practice' Is the New Black -- Redmond Channel Partner

Good post Per. You highlight the challenge and the dichotomy that all partners are facing. It is a retroactive version of what partners did in the early days of Microsoft combined with the modern realities of too many solutions.

It is incumbent upon Microsoft to embrace this change and push it all the way to the edges of the field sales organization.

That is both the challenge and the opportunity.

Re: Exercise your greatest power as a developer

great post and funny intro. I still get down to Laguna every so often, but not as often as I'd like. We used to revel in the simple things of Laguna Beach --- walking along the boardwalk, going up the hill to see the bocce ball and scuba divers, and watching our kids play in the sand and on the swings at the south end of main beach.

We also used to go to many other places along PCH --- including our own little secret beaches and a few favorite local restaurants. I'm not even sure which ones are still there ... The Beach House, Tortilla Flats, Royal Thai and a few others. So many great memories and stories that they could likely fill a blog or two and perhaps even an ebook.

One of our favorite things to do these days is motor from Newport Harbor to Emerald Bay. Then swim to the beach, snorkel on the edges and just enjoy that secluded area with an incredible view from the back of the swim deck.

Re: GeekWire goes to China: Are Chinese tech companies innovative?

Just by considering the Law of Large Numbers there should be a lot of innovation as well as patents and other efforts happening in China.

it was nice to see my friend and former Microsoft colleague Chris Roozen mentioned in this article too. I think the older you get the more you will appreciate the zen of just getting wet. Sure, you'll still want to catch waves ... with the limited time you have. Sure, you'll still occasionally cut someone off. But, you'll have the common sense & courtesy to apologize. Life is too short to get all worked up over missing / not catching that last wave of the set. Enjoy the paddle out, enjoy sitting in the water, enjoy chatting with your friends and fellow surfers, enjoy communing with nature. And, most of all, realize that 99.99% of the people on earth cannot be doing what you are doing right now.

Re: Starting a New Job is Tough, So Embrace the Butterflies

good post. They have been doing this for many years and have seen a lot of companies and people go thru their growth cycles. The Thinkspace team has a pulse on what works for employee engagement and getting the most out of people in a way that works for them, for the company and their customers and partners. I believe they would be a great session at SXSW.

Re: How to Start When You Are Stuck

As Molly said ... Setup was easy, albeit a little goofy. As I wrote about in my blog I thought it was odd that i could not wear it out the door. I had to plug it in first to do an initial setup. It's not a show stopper, but it seemed odd in that I could not use it until I arrived home 10+ hours later.

Re: The SharePoint Landscape from 30,000 Feet

great article ConRock!

Re: SharePoint IT needs to adapt for the future | Sharegate

Good point, but your first paragraph may be a bit off. Is SharePoint here to stay? I've been working with SharePoint for going on 15 years now. I'm a fan, but one thing that seems pretty clear is just as you said ... the brand and the messaging around the platform are fading. I think that's a good thing. In reality the platform should have stayed just that and the solutions built with it should have been branded as what they are. Would SharePoint have taken off and become as infused into the vernacular and into solutions if that were the case? We will never know.
