I mean that no matter how complex you think DNA is, it doesn't come close to the articulate, intricate beauty and complexity of God. Next to God, DNA is just Legos. Click. Build. Someone doesn't understand the elegant simplicity of DNA. Adenine, cytosine, guanine, and thymine. That's it. Ain't no more (unless you watch X-Files, where they add a fifth.)

If DNA is evidence of God, then God is pretty boring. My kids' Lego collection has a level of complexity several orders of magnitude above that.

Or is the Lego corporation evidence of the massive, mysterious complexity of God?

My God is way more complex than DNA. (Or Legos.) Please try again.

Re: About Rob Bell's new book (my thoughts so far)

God never uses punctuation when he speaks to me, either.

I shouldn't expect Rob Bell to do better.

Re: i’m on a jet plane (and these are my rules to travel)

I hope for your sake that we never travel together.

Re: if God is so kind and loving and sees all… then why?

Not that I prefer Star Trek to Jon Acuff, but Trek has been around longer. I recall the advice of Captain Kirk to someone who had the frustration but lacked the empowerment: "Every revolution starts with one man with a vision."

Our revolution has already begun. And the word "repentance" means, literally, a turning-away-from. Let us revolve, halfway, from whatever evil towards which we are inclined.

Carry on, soldier. I'm with you. And either I've got your back, you've got mine, or we're side by side. This fight will be fierce. And we *will*die while fighting it. It's inevitable. But it's okay. We're part of the end game, and it's worth it.

Carry on.

Re: What the New iPhone Connector Means for Your Old Accessories

You buy a lot of stuff.

Re: My Next Right Step

Well, it was nice to have you semi-nearby for a while.

I still hope we cross paths at some point. What?

Whatever this "biological urge" is, it sure makes a convenient excuse.

But anyway, it's the emotional affairs that men have that leave their wives feeling inadequate. That's what crumbles marriages.

We men need to stop falling in love outside where we are. I also apologize if I came across as polemical, but sometimes it's hard not to when limited to 140-character blips.

The issues and reasons why are buried in a few layers of history and awkward church politics, but you're right, of course. The Resurrection was so powerful and universe-shattering, that its ripples affect time not only since it, but before it as well. It changes everything.

It's a good reminder.

Re: 18 Ways to Ruin Your Reputation on Facebook

Step further. I'm no longer astounded at some of the things they say without realizing that a post on the Internet is forever. On the flip side, some of them are listening to me when I remind them that everything they post says something about both who they are *and* who they want to be. Change the trend of your content, and you'll change the way people look at you and appreciate you.

I think the bottom line is that we can be honest about ourselves, but that it's always a good idea not to be a complete idiot and post or email anything that would reflect negatively on our characters, potential employers, friends, or family members. When you build people up in public, they will naturally repay the favor. When you ridicule people (except, possibly, if you're a keen satirist), everyone will be far less inclined to associate with you out of legitimate concern that they might be the next target.

Re: The silliest pro-abortion argument ever (is one you hear all the time)

“If you’re against abortion, you should be against war, too!”

Yup. My wife, after some deep thought, decided not to let me. I'll be forever grateful.

Anyway, in the aftermath of recovering from that, this band appeared on the scene. About a year ago, I put the song on repeat play in my car. It crushes me, too, in all the right ways. For two performers who are not married to each other, they do such an amazing job of portraying the chemistry.

If the song gets you in the gut, you should try watching the video. Repeatedly. For a few hours. Amazing.

I played it for my wife and she didn't get it. At least, not yet. She wants a simple answer: "Wait? Does he mean that he doesn't love her? Or that he does?"

Uh. Yeah. Or no. Not quite like that.

Isn't it nice that the deepest relationships are so simple and easy to maintain? ;)

Re: demon Santa

You told your kids there's no Santa??

YOU'RE UNAMERICAN!! :)

Re: Are Christians Writing “Edgy” for the Wrong Reasons?

I chuckled a bit at the quote: "I don't want to write about saints."

Some of the stuff I've read about the saints is pretty edgy.
