The hoops you have to go through to get an ID are absolutely insane. I can't go into great detail about it because it's an ongoing story — which is why the no reblog — but I just met someone last week who spent 10 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit before he was released. He has no record aside from that, yet listening to him talk about all he had to go through to simply get an ID after being released from prison FOR BEING WRONGFULLY CONVICTED and therefore not an ex-con was fucking mind blowing.

I feel you on hating the dim indoor gyms, but I still like to keep it around f/2.8 as much as possible to blow out the background so it's not distracting.

Well, considering that they have the slogan "When seconds count, the police are minutes away" stamped on their homepage, I'd say yes.

They also want police officers carrying shotguns and assault rifles to match what they sometimes are up against.

From what I've read in the wake of Tuscon, they aren't putting the blame on the tool used, but on the system for allowing a mentally unstable individual access to a gun.

Seriously. I was in Kansas City over the weekend and my family was commenting how we couldn't find a grocery store. We stayed at a Residence Inn on Main at 31st Street and couldn't believe that between downtown and the Country Club Plaza all we could find was a Costco.
