Chemex totally counts! That's what I've been using. And i've been lusting after one of those kettles for ages. They're so expensive! It's like buying 3 chemexes at once or something! :(

Haha, I mean, I wouldn't get coffee from Starbucks unless I had no other options but their beans and other coffee products are pretty decent! I've seen ceramic pourovers there too and I was quite surprised initially but I got over it. :)

I'm pretty sure that ad is in Hanzi (actual Chinese characters). Pinyin is when you translate Chinese characters using the Roman alphabet.
E.g., 你好 = hanzi; ni hao = pinyin.Also, there are 3 other locations for Xi'an Famous Foods! St. Marks Place, Bayard St., and East Broadway. You should hit them all up.

Scoops is awesome! I was really excited when I saw an ice cream shop open in Brooklyn named Scoops, thinking they would be an off-shoot and have crazy flavors, but sadly it was not. Apparently, opening an ice cream shop and naming it Scoops is like a normal thing.

As owner of this particular mug that you reblogged, I will say that the film that they're all talking about does get a little weird and gross. It makes the mug a little sticky to the touch. And when you put your lips to it. I'm not sure if this is something that I should be peeling off though since I think it's this special film that's making the colors change, but who knows.
Anyway, the mug is still pretty cool! I don't use it that much though, sadly.

Me too!! Tickets for their final tour go on sale tomorrow at noon. I'm going

Before I started spending 3 hours a day riding trains to and from work, I could read anywhere. At home in bed, on the couch, at the dining table, by myself at lunch, on a park bench, at the library, wherever. But since I started working and made it a habit to read on my commutes, I've found that, like you, I can't read more than like 20 pages at home. I try but I just get so distracted by other things (food, TV, the internet, my general restlessness). Sometimes the desire to read isn't even there if I'm not on the train.
It's strange. Midly upsetting.
Then again, I can't read on a train if it's too crowded and if I'm not sitting. I need room and I am horribly unbalanced and I fear cutting up my face with my book pages too.
So if you're neurotic about your reading habits, you're certainly not alone!

Congrats on the new job!! (Sorry about the circumstances in which you had to find one.)
