Dear Fellow Deep River Democrats,

I have been your Town Clerk since 1993. Quite honestly these years have been among my happiest. I am proud of having been elected eight times and of my work, but after 16 years of public service, I am ready to retire.

I invite Deep River’s Democrats to join me in voting for Nancy Talbot on September 15th. She has the qualifications, the knowledge and the ambition to become an outstanding Town Clerk, a position that requires strict attention to detail and a wide-ranging knowledge of everything from fishing licenses to election laws. While the job itself has not changed much over the years, the office depends increasingly on technology. Nancy Talbot has come along at just the right time, and with just the right skills—she is a computer whiz, detail-conscious and hard working. She is a home-town girl, knows Deep River's people and has the patience and the good humor necessary to be an excellent town clerk.

Nancy has a solid history of public service: Elections Moderator, Deputy Registrar of Voters, Elected member of Board of Assessment Appeals, Deep River Website Designer & Webmaster, PTO president, Daisy/Brownie Leader, Meals on Wheels Delivery Volunteer. For the past two years Nancy has been our Parks & Recreation Director / Building Department Secretary.

I recommended Nancy for the position of Town Clerk to the Democratic Town Committee’s Selection Committee; she received the unanimous endorsement of the entire Town Committee. It was my privilege to place her name in nomination at the Democratic caucus on July 27th. She was resoundingly endorsed.
