This type of "journalism" is a joke.

Re: How would you change Motorola's Droid 2?

I would make the software not suck for starters. Motorola can't make software so leave that to Google. (I wasted way to much time dealing with email issues between this phone and our email servers at work Thursday. Granted part of it was I was working in a secure area with no wireless coverage.) The Motorola UI sucks and it took me forever to explain to the user how to use the phone. The best android phone right now is hands down the G2 but still not good enough to move me away from my iPhone 4 as being my main phone. (I get to use every phone at work that people actually buy and the G2 is by far the best Android phone. Never seen a Nokia "smartphone" at work which should say something about Nokia's products.) The first droid was not horrible but the current Motorola devices are horrible for normal users and I can't tell people at work to root the device and install plain android so shut up about that.

For ease of intigration with the U of M's tech services at the hospital/medical school I would rank the mobile OS's as such:

iOS (Just works with our servers and our secure networks. I have only had one iPhone not work with our secure network and it was a faulty WiFi chip in the phone)
BlackBerry (We run a BB server which makes this more or a pain so when we move to exchange BB will go further down the list)
Android (Fragmentation causes Android to be more work to support)
I have never dealt with Nokia at work so no idea how they rank. Everyone in the office is clearly divided between iOS and Android.

I never comment so that went beyond the scope of the question to the entire mobile ecosystem.

Re: Nanotechnology enables ultra high-def LCDs, cheaper stacked-electrode OLED screens

Finally my college does something cool enough to make it on engadget. My question is who will know the difference as the human eye cannot resolve much more than the iPhone 4's pixel density. That being said it is cool technology... put it in my iPhone/Mac now.

Re: A River of TWiT

That sounds very cool Leo. I would love to participate in a live IM stream of content. Just have it work with Adium or iChat and I am in.

Re: http://happybirthdayleo.tumblr.com/post/57490438

Happy Birthday Leo. I know you hate hearing this but I grew up watching you on TechTV and you sparked my interest in technology. I hope you have many more years of great tech coverage.

Have a Great Birthday!!!

Re: Abby Arrives In France

I would love to go to France some time.
