We wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see all the great things you bring to the X PRIZE Foundation!

Jason J. I think any reasonable attempt at getting the GLXP will need a low cost launch vehicle. Most likely the Falcon 1e (if they ever get on schedule with it!)

Jason J. So does NGL plan to land in a "difficult to reach area" for the GLXP mission? Or are you just building this system so it is capable of reaching these areas on future missions?

Jason J. It is a huge learning experience for the whole team and already is proving to be a great way to prepare for the moon. We will be posting our de-brief of each test on our website: http://omegaenvoy.org/news/

Jason J. Hopefully we won't stray too far from the habitat module or from the crew during EVA's. We didn't consider the wind since our rover is rather small and low to the ground, but you are right, that could pose a problem. Our rover is very familiar with Resolute Bay right now as it has been sitting there for the past 3 days waiting for the weather to clear up to get to Devon Island.

We are definitely in for an adventure!

Jason J. The Mars Society also has a research station there for that reason. Here are some pictures of the Devon Island terrain: pic1 and pic2

We are excited by how the terrain varies from 'flat but rocky' to 'very steep and difficult.' Most of the expedition will be spent around the habitat module where the terrain is pretty similar to what you might see in an Apollo Landing photo. When we want to test our capabilities to navigate rougher terrain we have that option as well.

Jason J.
