I'll get right on that exercise. Meantime, I'll share my information that illustrates my level of inquiry. http://janetclarey.com/2009.... http://janetclarey.com/2010.... It's always helpful to back up such strong statement with actual fact.

Re: Highlight Reel from Episodes 881-891

I can't help but think about all the episodes of LOST you missed while hammering these out week after week. You made my day. I enjoy you're blog too and am so glad we connected. I was equally inspired by the bootcamp publication. I immediately wanted to drop everything and get creative. You're right, it would prevent writers block.

Re: Beware critics of Connectivism ! I work in the learning technology field and the same thing applies there. I think some companies think they can just add an icon for a Facebook group and do the same old marketing push through it or, expect people to just "go there" and talk with them. The companies that understand what social media is about - interaction, community, networks, reciprocity, authenticity, etc. will be the one that prosper. Of course, social media has to be the proper channel and that means knowing where your customers are.

Re: Traditional Media has 5 years left: PWC Analyst

Define death. I am Gen Y and intensely connected virtually. That doesn't keep me from wanted my morning paper with coffee. I work in corporate workplace learning. The same is said about traditional classroom based instruction. While it has dropped as an overall total part of training, it is still the most prevalent way to train. It is often blended with other delivery channels. The newspaper doesn't die. It is supplemented and just one of the many delivery channels available to people.

Re: why is creativity depressing?

What defines healthy?
From the article:
"They found that people with bipolar disorder scored better -- up to about 50 percent higher -- on creativity tests than the healthy control group. The creative control group had about the same increase in score relative to the healthy control group."
Perhaps the variable is not creativity but society's definition of what "healthy" is.

Because the study does not show creativity has a causal relationship or connection to mental illness, a creative temperament then should not be viewed as unhealthy as is suggested. Imagine a world without creativity. A world where studies lead to "better strategies to manage and detect mental illness."
