very good. Love it. I"m wearing some new shoes now and there are some things that I wish weren't in the shape that they are in.

At the same time. I'm passing on old shoes to someone and I'm shocked at how much I'm gasping at some of the things that I see now that I've passed them on.

Great post.

For us we don't shy away but we also clearly talk about theories. We have to stake our claim and our life that Jesus is God, come to earth to take on the punishment that we deserve. He traded his good for our "not good" and offers for us to join him in the mission to change the world.

Science is one more factor to help you decide to stake your claim on what is above.

Science is flexible and is ok to change when more information is present. I hope that my life is the same, the older I become and the more information that I gain about myself I am able to decide differently than before.

Great post again and definitely some food for thought on issues that aren't worth standing on.

Man, we've been talking about money a lot at my house. I think a lot of it is how we grew up.

I'll never forget my parents walking into our house and they were just astounded at what we had purchased. It wasn't expensive and we bought what we could afford on one paycheck but it's amazing how much expectations have played into what we "need" and "want" and how hard it is to break that stuff off and kill it dead.

I've seen this before, but when it comes to what people think people gave in the NT, it's more like 27%. I want to continually grow in what I give away.

I don't think there is a magic number. But I do have a number that is direct deposited every paycheck so I don't worry about it.

Hey Kenny,

We have a ton of TV's in our space. We use them to make announcements, run information on meeting locations, and they also run the service live to create extra space for people to congregate.

Our TV's are networked through our hub. I'm not sure of the details but just know that all of them run on a single feed on Sunday morning. The other days of the week they run Keynote which cycles announcement slides and our informational meeting space locations.

Our struggle has been the idea of "spending too much". TVs are a visual cue that you spent money. Not sure if you will run into this or not, but for us it became something that we are rethinking because of the feedback.

I immediately think these things should be on your screens:
-Announcements: possibly kids or teens making these happen
-Parenting walkthrough for the week
-Calls to Action: Volunteering, Small Groups, Missions, Giving, etc.
-Highlights of previous services: Great for campaigns or initiatives in your ministry.

So it worked for me this morning. I didn't know you nuked it but makes sense, haha. Having that option to post to Wordpress after we post to Pressgram would help possibly.

Overall though John, I'm thankful. This keeps me active on my blog even when my lazy butt didn't get up early enough to write. It also makes me more interested in my own blog than previously!

It's really interesting that you mention this too because I recently had a conversation with our student ministry team talking about it's not about bringing in new families anymore as much as keeping what you got.

Keeping what you have and developing them into contributors. There is a book there if you want to write it. :)
