good question Todd.

Just looking at the share-of-spend that affiliate marketing is starting to obtain from total budget I can see it's trending seriousely upwards.
Where 2 - 3 years ago affiliate programs could expect to get anything from 2% - 5% of total budget for staffing, resourcing and prmotions I'm starting to see a large number of advertisers that are cutting into the traditional media portions of their budget to increase the performance marketing portions.

We're regularly seeing budgets of anything from 5% to 15% of online marketing budget (in larger brands) being allocated to affiiliate marketing and even higher percentages for smaller and mid sized businesses.

Perhaps we're shaking off the "flaky-online-channel" moniker ;-)

I'd predict a rapid upsurge in brandspend in the next 3 years - hoping we ride the wave along with it!

i think this is in response to a new player in the market :-)

I'm biased - i admit, lol - but we've built and manage the affiliate program for Projjex - which is IMHO a far superior product - having used both extensively.

Projjex pays out $3 for each free user - no strings attached. the service is free and allows users to collaborate, track tasks & time, add docs, minutes, notes, progress etc. VERY COOL. I even use it for our own business.
