I don't know how much that will help, though. I just tried it with "wedding favors," and I still only found two keywords that met the SEOT and SEOC criteria. (And the traffic for "personalized mint tin wedding favors" seems suspiciously high.)

Re: Monetization is For Amateurs

Unlike most people, Jim has figured out what he's truly passionate about.

Re: Monetization is For Amateurs

Unlike most people, Jim has figured out what he's truly passionate about.

Re: Monetization is For Amateurs

Unlike most people, Jim has figured out what he's truly passionate about.

Re: Monetization is For Amateurs

Unlike most people, Jim has figured out what he's truly passionate about.

Re: Monetization is For Amateurs

Unlike most people, Jim has figured out what he's truly passionate about.

Re: Finding and Brainstorming Markets, Part 1

Great video!

There's one thing I'm still confused about. To take an example from your video, weight loss products in general have a very high ClickBank gravity, but the highest-gravity facial weight-loss product has a gravity of less than 15. Similarly, there is a grant-related product with a gravity of 24.66, but there's no product about grants for single mothers.

Would these examples still pass the BILT because the parent category has a high gravity?

Re: “Freedom Business” Creation in 3 Weeks: A Case Study

Awesome work, Joshua!

Re: The Biggest Questions So Far

I second Jim's suggestion that each post be accompanied by suggested action items.

Re: The Biggest Questions So Far

Thanks, Clay. I think I see what you mean. The idea is to use the BILT to find a market that meets minimum criteria. Not necessarily a market that scores the highest on every single metric.

Re: The Biggest Questions So Far

Here's one thing I've wondered about. I think the conventional wisdom in Internet marketing is that the ideal niche is high demand but low competition.

The BILT, on the other hand, is designed to find niches that are high on demand AND competition. Perennial favorites such as Internet marketing, dating, and weight loss score very high on the BILT. On the other hand, there are some untapped niches with 8,000+ searches a month that aren't going to score well because there aren't any competing ClickBank products or affiliate programs.

By filtering our ideas through the BILT, aren't we in danger of missing out on those untapped niches?

What if I find an untapped niche that's a subset of a proven market like weight loss or Internet marketing? Wouldn't that be a good bet, even though it wouldn't completely pass the BILT?

(I say keep the emails coming.)
