Erm, set -o history will re-enable history.

Also, any individual command can be ignored in the history by preceding it with a space. Unfortunately, both options also disable accessing the command via C-p / up-arrow. Your method does not stop that, but it doesn't have the local variables defined. I don't recall if you can play set -o games inside a function.

Been going to DC for a bit... Only caught crud once out of, erm, 10+ years. But I rarely do the mega fan tracks (although seeing Ed Asner N years ago was great). And if it weren't for puppetry, Marriott would be a heaping helping of nope.

Plus: Sanitizer. If you touch something anyone else has touched, sanitizer.

Even more, "guy" comes from Guy Fawkes. The effigies were called Guys. This turned into an insult about how one looked as disheveled as the efffigies, and then slowly spread from insult to friendly insult to friendly greeting. h/t to Aaron Mahnke's Cabinet of Curiosities podcast.
