In reality, in view of foreign policy disasters, it's the other way around.

Re: Magdalena Diary: Life near the Border - KJZZ 91.5 FM - Your NPR News Station

I travel Sonora frequently and I make it my mission to see places off the beaten path down there. Sonora is beautiful and the people are wonderful. I often wonder why more people don't visit Sonora (actually I'm kind of glad I don't see too many tourists). I was ecstatic to hear a piece on Magdalena de Kino!!!!

I recommend traveling the Sonoran River Route, visiting Hermosillo, Obregon, and Alamos if you would like to see some interesting places.

Anyone wanting to travel there, I can provide you information and contacts for guides if you would like. Some activities I enjoy there are kayaking, rock climbing, camping, etc. Sonora has much to offer. There will be Fiestas de Pitic in Hermosillo in Febuary and in March the Yaqui's will be having their rituals...you can see a their traditions in the internationally recognized Yaqui museum in Esperanza/Cocorite near Obregon. (Interestingly, the same Yaqui founded Guadalupe, AZ from fleeing the Mexican military).

jasonphx1@gmail.com

Ugh...I could talk forever about my years traveling there.

Re: Pakistan – On the Brink?

Does anyone see the problem of using F-15's and B-1 bombers to fight these skirmishes? As accurate as they claim, do we really know who we are bombing from 30,000 feet??? We saw the same thing in Serbia, the US Gov doesn't want casualties not because they are worried about our troops, but they are worried about public support....so BOMB BOMB BOMB from afar. Who cares of the "collateral damage" right?

...and on top of that, what cost comes to us from this? Operational costs for a F-15 are probably around $11-15,000 per hour....there were two F-15's involved...and the B-1? One of the most sophisticated bombers built? How much per hour is that? $15-$30,000 per hour? ....and the guided ordinace? We probably dropped, oh, $120,000 worth of weaponery???

To do what? Kill a couple guys with machine stamped AK-47's and RPG's?

...and yet another problem, why destroy these people in big mushroom cloud puffs of smoke? Do you know if they survived??? Do you know who they were? Did you capture any maps? Did you get info from POW's about activities in the area???? NOPE. You have fun little videos of dust clouds.

No wonder we are losing our wars - breaking our banks......AND MAKING ENEMIES OUT OF OUR FRIENDS.
