I'm now reading "The Cost of Discipleship" and I go to your site every after chapter to help me organize my thoughts and reflect on some questions. Knowing Bonhoeffer dedicated a chapter on this topic means the unbelief of lust is a big deal in the Christian life. It's a big deal maybe because heaven and hell is at stake in what we do with our eyes in the area of lust. Lust is a battle of unbelief and unbelief is a battle of faith. But how about those Christians who are still in bondage to lust? Are they blinded? Is it time for them to sincerely ponder if they are truly Christians, fully surrendered their lives to Christ and/or are saved? From my experience, I truly experience freedom not through 12 steps programs or any sexual purity accountability men's group. But only through real Biblical spiritual discipleship through a group and a mentor. As I mature in faith my struggle diminished.

Re: Dedicated Father

Very impressive. It can stop fertilization, and it can be taken up to 72 hours after intercourse to stop the implantation of an already fertilized egg to the uterus.

When contraception is as convenient as an over the counter drug that young girls can purchase in a convenience store, we are also making their sexual behavior more thoughtless and less personal. It reduces it to a mere physical act rather than the
beautiful interpersonal, mutually responsible behavior sex was intended to be.

If a woman chooses to get an abortion from a clinic, she at least has to face another human being. But now, the young woman has to face no one. She’s not accountable for her actions, and even worse, no one might know if she needs help.

Accountability and responsibility is an important concept in civilized society, and there are consequences to our behavior - teenagers need to see that. We’re giving these students the idea that something this significant can be tossed around.

Yes, sexual behavior is a private matter. But if my 15 year old is having sex, have questions about it and is about to make a life-changing decision about his/her body, as a parent, I would like to know about it.

Re: A Rant on Political Correctness

PC runs amok in this country. Offending someone has become the "worst sin" anyone can commit. It's dangerous. It muzzles people and restricts their right of speech. Did you hear Dr. Ben Carson's speech at the National Prayer Breakfast? He said we need to forget about unanimity of speech and unanimity of thought, what we need
to concentrate on is being respectful to those people with whom we
disagree. I know many will blame Willie Revillame, the boy's parents and TV5 for this abuse but Filipinos should also realize that if they want to stop poor taste, moral and cultural degradation on TV, change should first begin in us.

Re: Book Review: Linchpin by Seth Godin

Got to read this. Its always easy to bash men in advertising because many think its funny and true. Its not a good sign when our society needs more men and fathers who will reflect integrity and Christ-like masculinity. Kudos to Dockers despite of their poor-taste Super-bowl commercial and me not winning a free pair of pants that evening.
I wear usually Gap, and along with Target and Old Navy pants our pants say were stylish, resourceful and on a wise budget.

Re: A Day in the Life

What a story.
