Today I attended a new networking group, which included both corporate professionals and solo-preneurs like myself. One is a copywriter, one is a high-level paralegal, one is a nutritionist, one is an industrial philosopher, one is a speaking engagement coach, one is a high-stakes investigator. NO ONE said they were a freelancer.

There were three women residents who served on the RIOC Board and they were replaced by three men residents.The only woman on the RIOC Board is RuthAnne Visnauskas, Commissioner of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, who is not a resident. Just in case anyone noticed.

MrC, From the bridge, consider entering the garage, either via the sidewalk or the enclosed glassed-in entrance. Take the elevator to C (Concourse), which is the ground floor.

From street level, the entrance to the garage elevator is at the semi-circular driveway, adjacent to the supermarket. Take the elevator to the fourth floor.

Public Relations agencies are subject to many of the same vagaries of poor agency planning, changes in client budgets, softness in the economy, new CMOs and competition for scarce Marketing dollars.

Why aren't executives in PR as forgiving of gaps in employment as their Advertising colleagues?.

To clarify, the gravel accumulates in the eastbound bike lane of the roadway between the bridge and Vernon Boulevard. The gravel does not accumulate on the bridge span itself, which is the focus of the photo.

There is some gravel in the eastbound bike lane of the roadway between Motorgate and the bridge, and also in the westbound bike lane of the roadway before and after the bridge, but those areas have a negligible amount of gravel compared to the other bike lane.

I've seen this movie a few times and commented on Hulu.com how much I like the title. I've told quite a few casual friends that I am "making lemonade" and doing consulting work while I search for a new opportunity.

I spoke to the Erik Proulx producer and he offered to make a copy of the film available at nominal cost. If you are interested in seeing it, and if you have a venue -- Church Social all, Apartment Building Community Room -- that will host a group for FREE, let me know and I will get a copy of the film and promote the viewing.

For a fee, Erik Proulx will attend the screening and lead the discussion. Or the attendees could anoint someone to lead a discussion.

I've worked on Wall Street and at nonprofits and made a few transitions back and forth. There are misconceptions all the way around. Show your commitment to the nonprofit sector by performing serious volunteer work or serving on a board.

Try to make more phone calls. I scheduled a reminder on my Outlook every weekday that says "Make 10 phone calls." When it pops up, I hit snooze so it will haunt me in another hour. And then I force myself to make some calls. It works. Really.

In my last job at a public relations agency, I was hired specifically because I had a Wall Street background. My boss recognized that she understood very little about finance and needed someone who did.

I've seen it go both ways. The WSJ had an article about lacrosse and ice hockey athletes who work on Wall Street, some of whom got their jobs BECAUSE they were team players.
