I've had insomnia since I was 2 - there are infamous family stories (including calls to police) where I was out of bed and missing for hours. Most of the time I was playing hide and seek, without letting my parents know. Evil child. Things got worse as I got older, sometimes down to cycles of weeks with 2-3 hrs of sleep a night and (hated) meds to help with varying degrees of success. A couple of months ago I started Transcendental Meditation in response to major stress and BP issues. The effects was immediate - esp for sleeping. I'm sleeping at least 5 hours a night (based on work) and as much as 9. Only 3 nights of "bad sleep" and no cycles. Of all of the health benefits TM has given me - the deep rest I'm getting is the best one. Been looking at Withings Aura product, but I'm going to incorporate many of these hacks to get even better sleep - thanks Justin!

Patrick Rhone coined the phase "microsocial" to describe these personal social networks - I love that phase. I think that Google + is really interesting so far (much more so than Wave), I wonder if regular people, who already use FB as their "micronetwork" will have any reason to divert their attention and learn a different way of communicating.

I like the look of this and posted your story to SU using it - and really like the Twitter integration. The only tweak I'd like to see is the ability to pick multiple sites to post to at once, instead of one at a time. This is a feature of Mahalo Social that I use almost everyday.

I wonder if the competitive nature of the leaderboard mechanism is more an inherently male trait than female. I'm finding myself so turned off by the Twittergraders and MrTweets (really? Friending me because some website said so? Gibson's Pattern Recognition begins) that I'm using TweetDeck exclusively to follow only the people I feel connected to, many of whom are the same people I've followed from the beginning, over 2 years ago.
