I covered RealNetworks back in the early 90s when streaming was just getting started. And when RealNetworks was the company to beat, before Microsoft had a streaming product.

I'm somewhat surprised that Real still exists actually. Their video software has always been shunned by many Internet users because of bloated applications and other nuisances. So what is their business now?

I haven't followed RealNetworks in a long time but the company seems not have much of a future.

I hope Rob Glaser moves on to his next exciting venture.

Actually, I've never heard of this song until just now. The vocals are terrible.

Really, the success of Magic Jack is not technological; it's marketing success. The company had the right price point, but at what cost?

Magic Jack has received more negative reviews than good reviews.

Dan, can you answer some of these claims? I'm sure you know what they are.

Also, the assertion by Moffett that Magic Jack is responsible for declines from landlines is laughable. How can he make a direct correlation between self-reported shipment numbers for Magic Jack and lost landline revenues from AT&T and Verizon? Where's the sanity behind that?

Dan, more than shipments or sales, we need to know usage. How many people are active users. How many minutes are they using? How many people order the product and never use it? How many are disappointed once they get it.

From reading this article, I'd bet that Craig has never ordered or even used the Magic Jack.

Episodes are also available on HBO.com and YouTube. But these are PC oriented viewing not for your living room.

Plus not all episodes were available when I checked both sites.

I remember hearing that HBO was going to put all episodes for free online but I don't know where i've heard that.

I've been watching In Treatment Comcast on demand since I'm an HBO subscriber. Unfortunately that means i have to wait a week for the shows to appear on the On Demand channels.

I have an older Logitech Harmony 520 and am definitely not impressed. At over $100 it's too expensive and too difficult to program it correctly. I really hope these new models work better especially at these ridiculous price points.

Sounds like a good gimmick. What I hate about free stuff at huge tradeshows are the long lines.

At a trade show last year, I waited on line for 15 minutes to get a free hot dog.

These Internet stream rippers are nice but I don't see much value to them because there's no compelling content to listen to.

The reality is that it' a pain to use and make sure it's working. RaimaRadio seems a lot easier to use than other open source stream rippers. But I just don't need to record things off Internet radio.

I did buy the RadioShark however back when Howard Stern was on terrestrial radio. It worked as promised however it only recorded 2 hours maximum at any time. So I had to set up 2-3 automated recordings to get Howard's full five hour (plus) show. Not very convenient.

Speaking of ghostly gadgets, my RadioShark is now stuffed inside a drawer unused and not needed. Give me good content however and I may dust it and use it someday.

I applaud Tiv for dropping PayPerPost. Let's chalk this up to not knowing any better. I wonder, however, how Tivo didn't know about the bad feelings that many people have for PayPerPost. Are they that out of touch with the blogosphere?

Why not just get a new air conditioner? Or move it to another room? There are so many solutions to this, that it's pretty silly to even discuss it.

I have an idea: Why not duct tape a cat in front of the AC sensor so that the Tivo remote doesn't affect it?

Oh, I have another good idea. Take a drill and drill a hole into the air conditioner sensor.

I've got a million of 'em!
