sorry, Alison, this is your blog-but i have no other way of answering this "reply"-which is directed at me ----
so,to whomever wrote this-i DO homeschool-
and we do have a faith and values-
objective and eternal,as a matter of fact-
you know NOTHING about me and yet you judge me-
this is just the kind of thing i was referring to.
my husband and children possess ALL of the good traits you mentioned- and more- they are kind and loving.
Life is a blessing , to be enjoyed, if possible.
please do not send me anymore messages- this blog is Alison's -not ours!!!!
thank you, Alison for letting me take up your space!! i don't know how you do this all of the time !!!!
i will certainly be more careful about what i post !!

as an American and a stay at home Mother and wife- i find this article very offensive.
this woman is so unhappy she cannot keep her bitterness off the page.
it's sad, really,but it is a common reaction from women who find out their choices in life have only led to unhappiness and a lonely life.
the racist rant against Michelle Obama is horrible.
insulting our President elect and his family is in very poor taste ,to say the least.
it's strange,but Sarah Palin, a working Mother ,was constantly ridiculed by the press in this country.
sometimes people are simply mean spirited, i think it's because they are unhappy in their own lives.
we need to support one another,whatever our choices are.
i think you are a great Mom, and i can only imagine how difficult being a single mother must be.

i kinda skipped over the scary stories when my kids were very young-
later i told them that "fairy tales" were orginally quite scary-
once my daughter ,in middle school ,i think, -checked out a library book with the older stories, so she saw for herself what they were really like.
my cousin Leslie and i passed many happy hours pretending to be
"Snow White " and "Rose Red" when we were kids -
although,there wasn't much danger of actually encountering any bear
in New Orleans ,where we grew up--unless they were in the zoo!

oh,can i relate to this post ! i went -almost eveyday -to my kids' school-across town - before i took a shower- and in the same clothes i had on the day before- you get the idea- and even though i was always a room Mom- -i never quite fit in- the kids never seemed to notice-and i was happy to be with my kids on field trips and at the parties- which is the main reason i signed up to help at school anyway!
you are not alone! and i'm so glad i'm not either! some of us are just never going to have it all together. Finn is adorable, and he looks happy to me. and, i talk to animals too.

this reminds me of some people i've come across here in the states-
there are some homeschooling families who seem to think that dropping out of society,
or only being with other people exactly like themselves, is a good idea.
they are often enamored of the good old days-
esp. the 19thc-
and try to live as if it still is 100 or so years ago-
i like old things and especially the 19thc -
but i live very much in the modern world-
living in a self created world isn't healthy.
i should say- i have homeschooled, so i am not putting it down-
we liked it-we had a good time and learned alot!
just as the past is "a fun place to visit," so is fantasy-
we just shouldn't "live there "!!!
