Hyde looked great so far. Assuming his injury doesn't hold him out of any games, he'll likely perform well in good matchups. Reggie Bush, when healthy, will cut into his touches, which doesn't leave much room for Hayne unless Bush or Hyde miss multiple games. The lack of experience in the NFL probably doesn't help Hayne either. Good luck, Paul!

Re: How to Evaluate a Fantasy Football Trade

That's a good rec. I've experimented with the Fantasy Sports Portal trade analyzer a bit in past seasons, Shane. When I used it previously, if I remember correctly, it wasn't as updated as the two I discussed here. I was unable to find a few players in the database.

Testing it just today, it looks like it's ready to go for the 2014 season so I'll have to give it another shot. I've never been able to find one that really covers all the bases, but it doesn't hurt to have options.

Re: Announcing CoSchedule’s $500K Series A Funding

Congrats! The problem is that it's just not feasible for tools that automate trade valuations throughout the season.

Providing weekly opinions alone is time consuming, which means most experts have no time during the season to analyze specific trade scenarios. Dave Richard's value charts provide a ranking system for trades, but even these charts don't necessarily take into consideration your scoring system specifics. But short of paying an expert for personal fantasy football advice all season long, his charts are probably the closest thing you'll find to human trade analysis each week during the season.

Re: Own your very own Kluneberg from The League

Apologies we couldn't get back to you in time to help in the Christmas search, @Jessica Hulsizer-Rowe. Your best bet to find one is probably going to be on Ebay, but the original seller doesn't seem to be offering Kluneberg reproductions any longer. You might also check out the shirt sold through FX: http://shop.fxnetworks.com/...

Re: Week 10 Fantasy Football Pickups: Replace Your Quarterback? Maybe you put in two claims and accidentally prioritized the other first? If that's not the case, I'd check to make sure the order didn't change or that you don't have some other unique league rule in place.

You might have to contact the man behind the curtain at ESPN to figure that one out.

Re: Week 3 Starts and Sits: Poor Browns, the Vikings will destroy you

Oops is right, @DAVEP. The Chargers coaching staff doesn't seem to trust Mathews, and as such, he isn't getting enough touches to justify an RB2 play. It's especially alarming that he gets passed over for Ronnie Brown and Woodhead when the Chargers fall behind, which could happen more and more as the season progresses. I'd look to make a move if you can work anything out in your league.

As for his spelling, @Potato Gunners, I don't know. Maybe his family just wanted to be unique? Or perhaps they ran out of boxes filling out those forms that require you to put one letter in each space?

Re: Week 3 Starts and Sits: Poor Browns, the Vikings will destroy you

Savvy move, @Michael Mountain. There's still a fair market value for each player, regardless of who owns them and whether they are starting, and tools do a pretty good job of accounting for that.

Re: Week 3 Pickups: Eddie Royal takes the crown

Thanks for the comment, Isaac.

Snelling is definitely under-appreciated. I didn't specify that these usually begin with the last pick in the draft at the top of the order, but that is the traditional practice with the "Use It and Lose It" format.

What do you like about that format? Do you find it is more fair than others?

Re: How to Evaluate a Fantasy Football Trade

That would definitely be great, @Nick Falvo. Unfortunately, I think it's just too difficult to create this at the moment in a way people could trust. Projections can be subjective, so some of these future values wouldn't be reliable when calculating based on scoring system.

It'd be nice if some of the fantasy league hosts like ESPN or Yahoo! worked to integrate this into their platform so that they could score trades. Maybe we'll see that in the future.

Re: Terrelle Pryor: Sleeper Fantasy Quarterback?

Glad you agree with me, @tmcneezy. Pryor's already shown his ability to take over a game this season. If he puts it all together, I think he could be money. It definitely levels the playing field for everyone, and I like that it adds a little more excitement to the waiver claim period as we see who paid the most for the top talent. Now that we switched to it, I don't think we'll ever go back to any of the other waiver methods.

Re: feedly. feed your mind.

Good times, Google Reader! Some may not even truly use WordPress but need an account simply to be identified as the source. That's how I'd differentiate the two.

Re: Experiencing Medium.com

You're one of the first I've seen to use the large image on the side/header on Medium. (http://schedule.sxsw.com/20... while reading this newsletter today.

The panelists there discussed a very similar idea — keeping in touch with your loose ties because they're the ones that will provide you with interesting opportunities, information, and trends. Specifically, I remember them talking about the unique folks they followed on Twitter and how they (the panelists) had noticed rare tweets in the past across various sections of friends that signaled to them when things like Instagram were emerging. The panel was more focused on startups/investing trends, but I believe the advice rings true for everyone. We should all keep our ears open and connect early and often.

Thanks, @chrisbrogan.
