Yes Gloria, we will part as good humored pals...you do make some good arguments, and you do sound like a very cultured and distinguished woman.
Believe it or not I do come back to S.E. PA to visit friends and relatives, but I spend most of my time in S. Jersey where most of them live.
The country is very soothing and relaxing to me, but when I want to party I like to go to big cities. You should try Chicago sometime...it is awesome !!!
But when I am done, I got used to coming home to the sticks.
Gloria I think you are a decent person and I respect your point of view.
Just think...we met over o corrupt former State Senator LOL ;-)

Just check your statistics...how many people did the City lose in the last 10 years,
the last 20 years, the last 30 years ? Am I the only one...and for what reasons ?
Are we all wrong ? If you want to stay behind, God bless You and have a happy life in Philly. As for my property taxes...I live on 100 acres in Western PA, and if you were to figure my taxes against what you pay there for the amount of room you have, it is not as expensive as you may think. Maybe you live in an apartment or a row house...I have a lot of nature all around me. Check today's Daily News (7-22-09) John Baer's column where he states "highest-taxed city in America" referring to Phila.

Gloria, You and I think alike about Vince Fumo, but too many people IN HIS DISTRICT tolerated him whether they voted for him or stayed home on election day, and that is my main point.
I am so happy to hear of your vibrant life in the City.
Say hello to the bums, thugs, gangbangers, pimps, prostitutes, wanted felons, welfare queens, and car jackers for me...................I don't miss them one...littel...bit !

To Gloria, in reference to your reply, how is it that when former Senator Vince Fumo ran for re-election he won by huge margins, kind of like dictators from third world countries. His opponent did not come close.
If the former Senator as you say hurt many neighbors, why didn't they vote him out of office regardless of who his opponent was ? This apathy enabled him to do what he did, thereby my hard criticzim of his "subjects" that live in his district. When I lived in South Philly but not in his district, I knew many people who lived in his district who thought he was their hero. Yes Gloria, I am having a great life in the burbs.
Oh, by the was, the 2 elected officials who did bad in my district, Mike Veon we voted out of office, and Sean Remaly resigned. Yes Gloria, we don't tolerate corruption of elected officials that you tolerate back there in "Fumo World" Have a nice life in the "City of corrupt and content"

As a former South Philadelphian who now resides in Southwestern PA, I took great pride in observing
"Fumo World" coming to a crash. This corrupt and fallen hero reflects the degenerates he represented in his Senatorial District. I am glad I no longer live in South Philly. Those people get the Government they deserve.
