how is the temporary support of three businesses a bright spot?
how is that a good business plan?
if you're running an insolvent business it may not be the economy or the community, it may be the backdoor band-aid of cash that doesn't require any action or reaction to the clients needs.
why step up the consistency or quality if there is cash to pay the bills this month?

also, strange correlation here...
the 6,000,000 jews killed in concentration camps during WWII were exactly .2% of the population at the time?!? i'll bet they would have liked to have not been marginalized.

I was questioning Dee's clarification. It was not to the point or in any way clarifying. Which is why i cut/pasted the statement and clarification into my blog. All i was doing was pointing out the lack of "clearing" anything up.
This entire issue is purely the side-affect of an active and well connected couple.
Both of you being defensive leads the match to the bridge.

Dee Coppola response/clarification:
"When questioned about his statement that everyone knew Mayor Lary Coppola supported Amy, Chang said he didn’t see Wet Apple billing on Amy’s PDC report, so he assumed the mayor supported her."

Now I am confused? How does that clarify you or your company's support or indifference of Amy and her campaign? I think it is your involvement along with Wet Apple Media's working on her campaign that is creating the confusion. Of course, there's nothing wrong with your actions but appearance is as important as right or wrong.

i am aghast at the amount of bloating this COMPLETELY different government has gained in 6 months!
must be some kind of water retention. could it be the 8 years of lies and BS we just made it through?

instead of attacking the writer for different views (your words... silly rant. not very open to outside discussion are you?) why don't you use facts instead of childish hyperbole to make your case. we the people want and need a change in the big-money-driven health care system in america. be part of the change, it's taken too long already. check out the infant mortality rate and life expectancy in the collapsing european socialist paradises. it's kinda embarrassing.

one major flaw in your scare tactic, i mean logic, Arthur. you assume that the "change" we are seeing is a "top-down" effort. i think the election of representatives i.e. president, congressmen, was the "bottom" making their point.

there is no rush to health care reform, it's been being debated and re-debated for at least 20 years (harry and louise have been talking about it for that long). what specifically in the first few hundred pages turned your stomach?

The United States of America is officially known as a "full presidential republic" the specific definition follows...
"A presidential system is a system of government where an executive branch exists and presides (hence the name) separately from the legislature, to which it is not accountable and which cannot, in normal circumstances, dismiss it."

sounds a little "top-bottom" to me.

i believe the FEAR being created comes from a basic paranoia not from a quest for true social change.
is that old Joe McCarthy i hear coming up the path?

really??
i just returned from 2 weeks visiting friends in the netherlands (where they have lived for 8 years) they had comments and concern about health care, but it was along the lines of "you have to pay attention and be persistent" with your health care. sounds like basic common sense to me.

the freeloaders you don't want to pay for would be just the ones you find no redemption in. of course the children and handicapped don't count, what kind of horrid society would turn their back on those in need. sounds to me like you got the start of a good "death panel" to me.

have you been reading?
myself and many other downtown business owners have AND will be doing actual work to CONTINUE change and beautification. if your answer to all issues is "get out your checkbook" i'm sad.

take action like.. attending tuesday's city council meeting to find that "paint the town" reps want to paint the newly painted forest green marquee poles a cream color. the color will be filthy looking within a rain or two as will any bright color on a state highway with 15,000 plus car exhausts driving by every day. that is what the downtown business owners don't deserve.

please remember everyone, this is only one forum for your thoughts and opinions, there is a city council meeting next tuesday, there is a POBSA meeting thursday 8/20 as well as many council races to support. i'm not really sure why all this "boycott" stuff keeps coming up. there is room for all opinions as long as there is discussion, when anyone is told to "sit down and be quiet" or "there is no story here" we all lose a little.

thank you to all the volunteers and contractors (i have said it before and i mean it) and i hope to see anyone with an opinion discussing the jewel that is downtown PO everywhere.
