It's known as the "Publish or Perish".

Re: Intense Debate vs Disqus: Why I Nearly Switched

There is a lot of Comment Spam coming in ... I installed it after 1 day of trouble shooting and CSS Customizations.

I choose DISQUS becaus it supports Facebook and Twitter Integration.

However, the CSS Support was a pain. There was some good documentation but the documentation was not thorough.

I finally exhausted all the online help and support forums and went into the dark areas of using DISQUS CSS to Hack a number of Custom features.

The next day, I installed IntenseDebate for another Website. the IntenseDebate Installation took me a fraction fio the time that the DISQUS Installation cost me partly because I refused to think of customizing the CSS behavior for IntenseDebate

I have issues with DISQUS partly because they really don't sync up all comments even though they say that they do.

For example, a number of my old posts were closed for commenting, so I re-enabled them.

On WordPress, these old posts are now open for commenting but on DISQUS, they posts still show "Comments on this Posts are Closed".

I disabled/re-enabled my DISQUS Service seevral times to no avail and then ran the import comments several times.

It is like DISQUS has no idea what is happening.

These are just some of the issues. I am wondering if I should switch back to Intensedebate?

Re: Why Can't I Find A Job?

Not Really,

The demand is not based on having more or less than fifteen years of experience.

When I started my consulting career I had 1 month of experience but the demand for my skills was the same as if I had 5 or 10 or 15 years of experience.

The demand is based on "how good you can prove that you are" and not on the actual number of years even though it may seem otherwise.

But you did bring up a good point. Microsoft Copr. was in the news a couple of days ago for making a case for H-1B Visas to the government.

Why H-1B Visas you may ask?

Well, a good number of software development positions are unfilled every year.

There are still more jobs than there are computer programmers ... if you doubt my assertion, go to Dice, Monster or CareerBuilder and you will be amazed at the number of Software Development positions still posted.

So, comapnies have to hire for these positions by sourcing for talented professionls from all over the world.

If you have the right skills, you can pretty much find work in any of the States, Canada or Great Britain.

Success in computer programming depends on your practical expertise and that is what we focus on in "The Computer Programmer Book - The Street Smart Guide to High Paying Computer Programmer Careers" and in the "Software Developer Boot Camp".

Thank you

Re: How To Get An IT Business Analyst Job

Hi:

It is a competitive job market ... but what are the options?

What are your options if you don't go for a business analyst job?

Re: What Is The Toughest Challenge Facing Your Career?

Sarah:

I answered your question in this post titled:

"How To Get Through Business Analyst Interviews":
http://www.it-career-coach....

Thank you

Re: What Is The Toughest Challenge Facing Your Career?

Bill:

All our courses are self-paced.
