Sorry to bug you, but there's not a lot of info about systemd on raspberry pi. When I started it, it's got lightdm.service starting despite me setting default.target to symlink to multi-user.target instead of graphical.target. Can you give me any pointers here as to what might be going on?

It's rare that code that isn't reviewed, (or known well) or talked about gets merged without editing/revisions, even from people who know a project well, and coders who are known among the project.

That being said, pull requests are WAY better to receive than issues, emails w/o code or complaints. They say that you care about both the thing you're patching, and the project. It's a vote of confidence that most open source maintainers will appreciate. You can consider your job done at the first open pull request, or you can consider it done when the code is merged (or at least, the feature/thing you want is implemented/fixed in some way). Even if yours isn't used, it's a starting point, and a point of reference, and one way to think about the solution.

As a maintainer of some OS stuff, I'd just encourage you not to give up.

That being said -- If you don't have a 'contributing' section in your docs, you're doing it wrong. I probably wouldn't spend time submitting a pull request if it didn't have that, or some other indication that help is welcome and encouraged, and how it's preferred.

shredwheat -- sweet thanks. I'm just wondering if the best thing we can do for out-of-regioners is to have them use another computer/account. I'll have the full mac installer on a USB key for the US region. I'm @ home but I should be there in an hour or so
