I know the feeling, except that I'm so intensely private about some things that it's not that the people who know the backstory are far away, but that they don't exist because I didn't tell anyone in the first place!

I don't really think I'm going to register for a 5k-I just wanted to learn how to run and see if I could do it, and this seemed as good a plan as any. I needed something to tell me what was reasonable, instead of going out once, trying, feeling like I was dying, failing, and giving up. This breaks things down a little.

I teach environmental classes at schools and nursing homes and libraries and wherever else asks, all over the state, bringing in animals and helping teachers integrate live animals in the classroom into their curriculum. It's quiet at this time of year as the summer fairs end, and the school year starts -it takes a few weeks or months for teachers to set things up with their classes.

It's fun, if exhausting :)

Ha! I don't know my own way around very well. I'm only here for another two weeks.

But Hong Kong's a fun city; people equate it with New York. It's busy and bustling and loud and people come here to eat and to shop. The public transportation's awesome, but all in all, I prefer to visit small places :)

I saw the picture and it didn't even occur to me that anyone would think that was a shark-it's pretty clearly a dolphin.

They came to film at an old workplace, and asked if any of us wanted to dance on the show. We danced at our work, and apparently were on the next season. I've never seen it, though.

14 actually. But one lives so close that he's never here, and doesn't do the same job as the rest of us, so I'm thinking he doesn't get a card. I hardly know him.

I'm not actually sure-I picked them near our pond, but they just showed up one day. Since it's not underwater, I'm afraid I'm completely outside of my identification skills.
One of my housemates says they're some sort of aster, if that helps.
I'm glad you like them! I may have to actually plant flowers in the garden this year-I usually strictly grow fruits and vegetables.

I'm so glad you like it! I'm not sure if my way is a normal way of making cards, but it's the way my housemate and I have been doing it, and it works pretty well for us :)

And yes, I'm gecko... or I was, on Gawker. I chose isopod for tumblr so as not to step on electricgecko's toes, and then someone else chose gecko as a tumblr name, so I'm all sorts of confusing. I'm sorry it's not always clear!
