I have struggled with this for a long time but over the last while I am learning to slow down. The biggest thing for me has been taking a weekly sabbath and remembering that on this day that I do nothing that God still accepts me and loves me. Now that is a picture of grace. :)

After having to be forced into taking a time of unplugging (medical leave) 5 years ago I have made it a priority to unplug regularly. I seek to live by this principle: schedule life around my breaks instead of breaks around my life. It isn't always easy but it is well worth it!

Very interesting post John! I am a big user of Facebook's event application and it has been a great tool. This is mostly due to the fact that I have the most connections on there. I will have to check out Google events some more.

It is so important to examine the legacy that we are leaving. Are we going to be remembered for the all the extra hours at the office or the extra hours we spent with our kids or with others in need? I want to be remembered for the latter.

Justin, I can totally relate to what you have said in this post. I struggled with insecurity/fear for many years. It took a big wake-up call for me (a medical leave from ministry) to begin the journey toward freedom. Insecurity/fear holds us in bondage. Being the person that God wants you to be and has created you to be (no matter what others may think of you) is true freedom!
