Matt can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the confusion arises essentially from the intended definition of the word "problem" in this context. I think you're interpreting "helicity shouldn't be problem" as meaning "there won't be enough helicity to cause problems [for human beings in the path of tornadoes]," whereas I think Matt means "there *will* be helicity, so the *tornadoes* won't have any problems with [the amount of] helicity." Matt is talking like a true excited meteorologist/weather nerd/storm chaser, thinking about "problems" from the perspective of the tornadoes. :) So a "problem" is a thing that would prevent tornadoes from forming, in which case "[the amount of] helicity shouldn't be a problem" means that inadequate helicity will not pose an obstacle to the potential for tornadoes.

Haha. Not really. I've had this Tumblr for a while, but as you can see, it's pretty dormant, and I don't intend to start using it more right now. I was actually testing some systems related to a private family/friends blog (though this, obviously, is not that blog).

I was with you right up until the point where you grossly generalized that "the Occupy Wall Street folks...believe that anything is fair game...[including] raping." Really? You honestly believe, because certain specific human beings have committed horrible crimes over the course of a couple months of thousands of human beings engaging in 24/7 "occupation," that the average OWS protester believes that "raping" is "fair game"? You can't think that, and it's beneath you to say it.

You say you "haven’t been part of the conservative blogosphere six years to become the very thing I hate"? Well, you just became the "OMG TEA PARTY IS RACIST BECAUSE I SAW A PICTURE OF A GUY WITH A RACIST SIGN" crowd. Except worse, because accusing someone of being racist -- while a very serious charge, and an awful one to throw around lightly -- isn't nearly as bad as accusing someone of believing rape to be a-okay.

The statement that "the Occupy Wall Street folks...believe that anything is fair game...[including] raping" is grotesque, obviously wrong, utterly repugnant, and you should delete it from this otherwise admirable post.

Otherwise, this post is great.

Anyway, my Colorado law license is actually re-activated as of Friday. I saw them stamp the Status Change form with my own eyes. :) I guess the online database just hasn't been updated yet.

Thanks for the good luck wishes! I wish I knew how to keep in touch with you. :) But anyway, best of luck to you too, and I hope to see you again if/when I restart the blog.

President-elect Obama, who was criticized by Lieberman for being the "Hamas-endorsed" candidate, is going to endorse Lieberman to be ambassador to Israel?? LOL! That would be something.

Aside from the various inherent problems, another issue with any Lieberman appointment is that it wouldn't make the Senate situation better; it would make it worse, because Connecticut's governor is a Republican, she gets to appoint a senator to fill a vacancy, and CT has no special-election law for vacant Senate seats, so you'd be creating a Republican Senate seat for 4 years (instead of a quasi-Democrat, quasi-Republican, or whatever you want to consider Lieberman).

That said, hmm... I hear Chris Shays needs a job!

While I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with Palin as governor, I fail to see how her sky-high approval rating proves anything... unless you're willing to concede that Bush's historically low approval rating proves he's a complete failure as president.

Popularity is one thing; good governance is another. Sometimes what's right isn't popular, and sometimes what's popular isn't right. This may or may not be the case with Palin (or with Bush), but you seem to be asserting that her 80% approval rating necessarily proves something, and that's just not true.

Moreover, it's easy to have a high approval rating when you're taking money from oil companies and handing it out to every man, woman and child in your state. *cough*socialism*cough*spreadthewealth*cough*

Again... not saying there's anything wrong with that, or with Palin, but the mere fact that it makes her popular doesn't prove that she isn't an embarrassment to the state. You need better evidence than that if you want to refute David's point.

Last year, the networks did not immediately call Virginia or South Carolina. Bush ultimately won Virginia by 8 and South Carolina by 18. This is just something to keep in mind if the networks OMG DON'T CALL KENTUCKY RIGHT AWAY!!!! or whatever. Sometimes they just don't have enough solid information to go on, don't trust their exit polls in a particular state, etc.; "too early to call" and "too close to call" aren't the same thing.

Personally, I expect a double-digit UW win. Just based on the final scores, Wazzu is historically bad. The only reason they have a win, whereas UW doesn't, is because they played a Division I-AA cupcake. But the Cougars are AWFUL.

I didn't recognize him. It was obvious that a politician of some sort was in the house, but I had no idea initially who it was; I assumed maybe a local candidate of some sort, or a congressional candidate at most. Then I saw several people in his entourage wearing "INHOFE" buttons. So I took out my cell phone, went to Inhofe's Wikipedia page, zoomed in on the photo of him, looked over at the man standing a few yards away, looked back at the photo, and realized: yup, it's him!
