Those bars also serve pints. And they don't sell Heineken and Carlsberg. You can buy a €5 pint there or a shot of that gimmicky beer in the stuffed animal for €30 or €40, it's not really comparing like with like.

The Apple TV experience is really poor compared to the browser - my home media setup is a 2006 Mac Mini (had to hack it to get extra RAM in) with Plex for managing TV and movies as a media server - it's a really nice interface - they also make the most of big background images.

Really interesting concept, I like the idea of user-generated playlists, like on Spotify.

I'm assuming this is the browser view - did you have any thoughts on how set-tops/consoles would look? Also, just curious as to why you're not showing the movie duration in the movie screen (2nd image) - it seems important to me.

The homelessness/drug situation in SF (as I understand it) is down to a massive cut in public funding to help people recover from drug addiction, plus the climate. I'm not sure of the situation here. Nothing to do with tech.

Agree, SF is as bad if not worse. And the problem with moving treatment centres is nowhere wants them.

So I tried oiling the steak (using Rapeseed oil) and not the pan (big iron skillet thing with ridges) and it just wasn't as good - I'm guessing because the oil on the steak needed time to heat up? It just didn't get as caramelised on the outside as I usually get it when I have oil in the pan with smoke coming off it.

Nice, think I'm 4/10, but thanks to the little guy in my avatar I don't get many nights out, so I was looking for a list of nice beers to try at home! Luckily I live near a decent off-licence in Blackrock. Niall has Redmonds nearby too – you should send him in for research!

Being serious - I like my 'fancy beers' as Sarah calls them but usually go for an O'Haras or Brew Dog. Would love to learn more so a quick list would be handy – for example 'here's a great IPA and this is a great toasted lager'.

Tomatoes taste a million times better if you put a load of salt and pepper on them before they go in the pan.

These guys http://irishvillagemarkets.... cook potatoes *under* the rotisserie chicken, so you get amazing, chicken-fat soaked, herby goodness. So nice.
