Can it sustain sails like this for the next few months. Just how long a shelf like do your typical practical apps have. Can anyone point me in the direction of where there may be a study on average shelf-life of apps.
I work at www.iwikiphone.com where users give reviews based on experience and already some of the apps that were hot two months ago are not longer getting any attention. I fear that the app market is getting so big that the consumers are becoming equally fickle. Its hard not to be fickle when there are new apps every day that do the same thing which are cheaper and with nicer designs. Hard not to have your head turned by that.

Re: STUDY: Social Media Is for Narcissists

No surprise there!

Re: Skype Sold in $2.75 Billion Deal

Fair play to Ebay for admitting they were wrong with this one. It is not often that you see such behemoths of the tech world admit that their expansion strategy was not just flawed but completely incapable to achieve synergies. Do does this mean that they have written off almost a billion. What does this mean to the disagreement they were having with the Skype founders?

Re: HOW TO: Find the Name of That Song

Shazam is great. Works most the time. Just don't try and use in a techno nightclub. It is not great on that genre of music. LOL

Re: From Facebook to Apple: How to Fix the iPhone App Store

I think Apple have every right to have this process in place and it is good that this filter is there as who knows what rubbish would be sale in the app store (not that there is not already alot of rubbish). Its important to not everything is allowed. I have read that Apple only have a smell team of reviewers. Surely they can simply enlarge this and make the process much quicker.

Re: Don’t Want to Let Go of Your Ex? The quality of the app surely can't be that good in the end so who is going to get it in reality. Surely the design of the interface to encourage user-ability is crucial to the success of any app. I can't see how there could be a good interface when you can make it in "5 minutes". It reminds me of those business cards you get online, 500 for $10. You design them yourself online. They just don't cut it and when it's obvious when you receive one. I don't tend you take these people as serious and I would have to say the same thing about this. Get a developer to do an proper job. If the business has already come up with the idea of creating an app they should be clever enough to already know this.

Re: How The Recession Can Help You: Facebook to Expand Staff by 50 Percent

I was under the impression that the rate of growth in Facebook was on the wane. Clearly this is having no effect of their plans for the future. Maybe this is their pro-action. At the moment there is nothing else to really challenge them. Myspace is now generally viewed as being for upcoming musicians and teenagers. Twitter is a very different animal and its growth, while remarkable, will not really be a great threat to Facebook and its functions generally appease different needs. I would love to know Facebooks plans to enrich the experience further. Does anyone have any ideas on what they could be?

Re: 7 iPhone Apps That Can Save Lives

While there are certainly many apps out there that can potentially save lives, there can be many more. I believe that there will be many more also. Im sure there will be an app soon whereby you will be able to talk to a doctor at any time or place for advice on something you may be suffering from or you are witnessing someone else suffer from. We believe that there will have to be more focus on the use of crowd-sourcing. This is the future of medical applications. Imagine being linked to a a number of medics who will suggest to you remedies for certain ailments, rather than trusting just the one.d

Re: Wikipedia (Finally) Has an Official iPhone App

Stick to wikipanion for the moment. There are not enough benefits in using the new one. There is still allot of further development to be done on the app.
