Contrary to the NFL's nonprofit tax status, this is a business and it's about huge money.
If you owned a business would you stay in a facility that both restricted your ability to generate revenue while waiting on promises from your landlord? The Raiders are a entertainment business entity. As such they have the right to move as the 49ers did to Santa Clara.
If you don't understand the mentality of the NFL, Davis, and the TV networks then simply ask yourself this question. When the Niners or Raider games were broadcast why didn't the network(s) show Santa Clara or Oakland - why do they show SF streets or the Bay Bridge?

Re: The 7 Critical Things Your Cover Band Promo Video Probably Doesn’t Have But Should

Brad, thanks for providing some solid ideas. I especially like the idea of crowd shots. The Milestones video is a slick production and beautifully shot. You talk about taking shots of a crowd reacting to your band and I love that idea but the Milestone's video is not set in a club with real club goers, no drinks are visible and the dancers appear to be of the same age. Wouldn't a live shot of a band playing in front of a live crowd in a live venue make more sense? Thanks again for the great article!

Re: 15 Ways to Optimize Your Facebook Ads

Rocco, great is such an over used and old school term but it describes the value that you bring with this article. I have over 4,000 followers and my Faker's Score: 0 'bots, 2% inactive, 98% good. They tested 500 of my followers but were they the last 500 or a random sample? The results don't lineup with my experience of the amount of junk bot accounts I have following me at any one time. Maybe they will make some tweaks? I fall within the 45-54 category and found the "Twitter Adoption by Age 2011-2012" most compelling. My age bracket flat lined between '11-'12 at 9%. Most compelling was the fact that there seemed to be very little growth, and some attrition, across all categories (exception 18-24) between 2011-2012. Any ideas why the slowed growth from '11 to '12?

Re: Twitter’s down … and it has cost the economy $1 billion already?

Interesting post thank you! The only real issue I have with the formula is the thought that out of 500M Twitter users there are actually 100M "live" consumers who are on and utilizing Twitter. A more realistic number, in my opinion, would be 8% or 40M people, not bots, utilize Twitter for commerce. That is still a very large revenue stream that is not being accessed today.

Re: You’ll Soon Be Able To Download ALL Of Your Tweets Directly From Twitter

This would be a real value to marketers who wish to replicate their tweet strategies but do not have record of their tweets from the timeline saved. I find it fascinating that people feel that ghost written "Tweets" are a genuine and crowd pleasing activity. It goes against what made the blogosphere so great-authentic, genuine transparency.

Instead we are now saddled with a Gen X-Y'er gushing about how Ashton Kucher RT her Tweet. That's genuine! I bet that Kutcher knows Kawasaki isn't writing his own Tweets but he figures Guy has influence and that's the name of that game.

As for Mr. Cohen's statement: “Basically, for 99.9 percent of people on Twitter, it is about updating friends and colleagues about how the cat rolled over,” he said. “For a tenth of a percent it is a marketing tool.”

Is this guy for real? This shows a true ignorance to Twitter's viral marketing, press release, customer service, lead generation, reputation management, collaborative, networking, building audience, branding, and breaking news opportunities. There's a reason why Facebook copied Twitter's microblogging utility. Just ask @jobsatIntel, @Starbucks, @YourCoNameHere how Twitter is helping their brands.

Tim O'Reilly's Web 2.0 definition is a continuing prophetic warning to all corporate and entrepreneurial organizations "Creating network effects through an architecture of participation." That's not lip service that is what is crushing the print media and what will begin to cause this http://tinyurl.com/cmxpzh

Thanks for the great article and a place to hear the voice of reality!

Re: Community Spirit | danny brown

Danny,

I wish I could offer more but we feel that our true value is in helping people create their own "employment campaign." A call to action is exactly what we teach job seekers. Simply put with today's social media tools and the evolution of Web 2.0, it is vital that job seekers deliver their value first before their resume!

With your post you simply turn the tables and ask the businesses to perform the same delivery of value. As our career strategy boutique grows we hope to contract freelance writing assignments.

For now the best we can offer is our referral program. Anyone who refers to us a job seeker, entrepreneur, small business, or large company that signs a services contract with Inner Architect we will pay a 10% commission on the total for each deal. Anyone interested in this program please contact us on our site below. Let me add another thought to this posit--we are connected through Quantum Physics. From Einstein's theory to Dr. McTaggart's research on remote healing, and our health as it pertains to our thoughts, we are constantly in contact with other people. The idea that our thoughts are not contained within us but rather move out bound to the ether is not a new theory.

What fascinates me is the idea that if we choose a positive thought process the chance of attracting similar positive thoughts is much better than if we do not support positive thoughts. Simply put the entire law of attraction, if the theory is correct and practiced properly, becomes another "group" support system.

Wonderful writing!

dean aka @deansguide

Re: Brooks Bayne - That's What He Said

Brooks,

I caught a glimpse of these babies in my local United Market last week.
