Where's your weed law blog, brah? I'm interested in reading some non-sexual, non-pandering, hard-hitting journalism that is relevant to ME! A reader in the comments who wants to know more about the continued felonization of cannabis and the Establishment's reaction against it. I'm not even interested in "news" that distracts me with misconstruing cannabis as a vice! Plus, women don't have sex! That's just gross! Pot should ONLY be used for politics and NEVER for pleasure. Can't wait to read more!

Your response to acknowledging and apologizing for a horrible moment in history is to make a blanket statement that essentially calls Native Americans "savages?" That's ignorant and awful.

You know, America is unique in that it routinely chooses to ignore and whitewash it's genocidal history. In Germany there are official "never again" reminders EVERYWHERE. We would be wise to continue to not ignore the nastiness that got our country to where it is today.

I'm assuming you are not a descendant of the massacred? This would be important to you if you were. Hick did a hard thing here. You should do some reflecting on your privilege.

Your argument misses the giant point. You've already decided what black people are like. You don't want discussion. You don't want to work on fixing problems. You want to blame.

You say "family units" is the answer to everything. Even the statistics you side with, the families that are traditional, a black version of your Saturday Evening Post cover ideal, every one of those fathers and sons grew up in a system designed to push them down. You're deaf to our country's racist history and because of that, you're doing nothing but perpetuating it.

That's totally true. Netflix and NBC are making financial decisions based on the Cos's very real PR problem. Did he do the things he's accused of? We can't know at this point. Will people watch the programming he was planning? Some lesser number of people will, and so the networks won't risk their reputations or ad dollars on it.

We agree completely on your point. The reality is he's already facing consequences for something that can't be proven at the speed he's getting in trouble for it. Is that right? Wrong? It's business based on focus-group-style public perception gauging by big companies. Are his accusers at fault for that? In this case, no. He's been publicly accused of rape for a decade. Now that it's a big public discussion, those companies started paying attention.

However, the other commenters are blatantly and sarcastically placing blame real fast. Being mad that their close, personal friend Bill Cosby is going through the possible loss of millions of dollars and sparkly family values image still doesn't give them the moral high ground when they drag someone else (possibly very real victims) through the dirt.

Bill has a PR problem, but America absolutely has a rape underreporting problem that is much scarier. The truly unfortunate part about this whole discussion is that stats on false reporting/underreprting are unknowable to a certain extent ( http://www.bloombergview.co... ).

Bill Cosby isn't your dad. He's your TV dad. If it turns out he's a monster, don't take it personally. He is a very wealthy person with a kind smile who has literally joked about drugging women to take advantage of their lowered inhibitions. ("It's True! If that doesn't fit with your experience, then I'm sorry that all of your world-famous best friends that have been falsely accused of rape are so ruined and poor now. Their innocence torch will thankfully be carried by you forever.

You don't know the accusers or their motives. Blaming the alleged victims before anyone has set foot in a courtroom is disgusting. What if they're right? They have everything to lose by doing this. They'll likely be villainized for the rest of their lives even if they are 100% justified.

"Look at these malicious people making up something mean about a famous person I must know personally!" - malicious people making up mean things about someone's daughter they for sure don't know

Hick's always been a wait and see type of politician, though. This is 100% consistent with his character as a governor. The thing that doesn't square with me is how pro-business he is in the face of how many businesses have started since amendment 64 was passed. Everyone points to his relationship with brewing as hypocrisy on this, but ... oh wait, yeah, no, that is hypocritical. I'll bet he would have waited longer than most after the repeal of alcohol prohibition before getting into that game if he were around at that time. He's just a regular old nervous nickenloper.
