hmmm yeah I didn't find the dance impressive nor interesting. It's kinda all just drones doing a bunch of random crap on stage, IN SYNC! whoa. I thought the drone playing instruments video was more impressive. I guess it is more impressive if not pre-programmed but maybe that's what's cool about it. The programming. I don't know either way I feel drone stuff is pretty saturated and not that interesting in general.

oh karen... this is an all too familiar story. I'm so sick of the debate, not of Canon vs. Nikon vs. ??? but people just fuckin jerkin off to the tune of this is better than this and RED this when RED this comes out this will whack you off harder than this P2 card but this SxS card will fuck your flashcard in the ass with this 50mm Canon lens because it's got a tilt-shifted cock that when used with a Mac can give you 3D jizz.

same here. i've had all the clips and most of the sound for well over 4 months. Since the summer for some of the content. Now I have exactly 2 weeks to finish it. I'm stuck even though the deadline got pushed back. i'm useless!

Right! Exactly... but according to them it is the injection of that stuff (called "hydromorphone") that made him evacuate shortly after the xray. And he pooped a huge load, as you can see. I'm guessing initially it makes him relax and because he was already jam packed that it was pretty easy to move that stuff out. I don't know why they had to give him the shot (add on more costs to the visit), probably to calm him so they could take a clear xray but I hate that he was trippin out for the rest of the day. In fact, even though he is a little better now, he is still trippin. Poor guy.

Avatard... I will go see this movie yes but only if stoned. I watched the trailer in the theater and recently on QT HD. It sounds, looks, plays out bad. Initially I wanted to complain about the preview giving away the whole movie. And maybe for 4 seconds I gave it a chance but then I remembered reading articles about the technology involved and Cameron's been waiting for this and that.. blah blah... And in those 4 seconds I was persuaded to only not like it almost completely but to HAVE TO see it stoned.

Because that is the only way the crummy animation is going to be gaussian-blurred enough for me to think it is real. I agree, 15 years is one heck of a long time to wait for a ho hum movie. Which is why TRON better rock it. Although I wouldn't mind seeing TRON stoned...

Haha! I think this is the 2nd time you've posted this. I may be wrong though. I've been experiencing deja vu quite a bit on tumblr lately. Meaning people I've been following for a long time are either reblogging stuff that's been reblogged 1 - 2 years ago, accidentally reposting the same thing and forgot (that's me), or I started following folks and then they are late in seeing stuff and so I get to see it again 2-5x over. I've been unfollowing lots of folks because of this. I think I'm gonna have to unfollow more. Arghh!!! I won't unfollow yer tumblr though I mean unless you start rebloggin shit over and over. :)

Anyway it is interesting (or not) that the folks critiquing and giving suggestions on how to improve Karen's video completely miss the point and seem to not see past just the film. But I guess the fact here is that we (you, me and vimeo/tumblr) know Karen and how crazy exhausting her life seems. I believe her film reflected that very well. It summed up what I myself can remember of Karen in 2008. Exhausted. Busy. An extremely creative sleep-deprived workaholic. And yes she somehow managed to balance time with friends and family via the internets. I think that is what Steve is missing. If you watch the Filmfellas series on vimeo (http://vimeo.com/channels/zacutousa) he is constantly struggling to make sense of new media and via internet. Interesting and always frustrating. There is a serious divide with this guy and I find it really annoying that he realizes it but still feels he is right.

I just think it is funny that people are giving suggestions on how to improve Karen's video. Do they expect her to go back and redo what she made? Fuck that. I don't know about you but when I make a stream of conscious video, I like to leave it alone once I'm done with it. Much like the blogs and facebooks and twitters AND now web video... I am glad that there is a way for people who wouldn't normally be so vocal (in a traditional sense, whatever that was hahah) to be able to do it fast and almost second nature. Without all this planning ahead and storyboarding and formulas.

Plus I got all defensive when he was saying stuff about your video. :) And that's what I'm saying about him being "narrow" he doesn't see the scope. I think he uses this "I've been doing this for so long" kind of attitude to say how he wants to see 'this' and 'this' and 'this in this order' and if he doesn't see 'the formula' come together, he doesn't get it.

Also I was really surprised he liked the skate footage at all and then what's with picking on the title of the piece?

No yeah I understand and see that. I love that they are doing this and the banter and dynamics between the two are humorous but I guess I don't get why this guy even cares. And it's not like this for just this series, he's the same in all the Zacuto videos. It makes me not want to buy his gear. hahha.

Haha! That's a funny coincidence because for 5 hours last night I shot video for the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund which is a non-profit scholarship fund for gays. The show was all drag queens and the whole stage crew were lesbians. That was a pretty fun night. I'm still straight.

Well good now she'll get poisoning from the pancakes due to the fact that teflon is bad for you. You should consider checkin out CL for a cast iron pan. They'll last forever, it is more healthy in the long run, you'll get iron in your system, and you can clobber your housemates when they wash it with soap (which yer not suppose to).
