We in Kansas City Missouri, traditionally a red state are having great success with vogter registration. Jackson County (kansas city area) has the highest percentage of unregistered voters in the nation. Last week we registered 3000 new voters!!!! The board of elections hates us cuz we are making them actually work. This city is a southern city in the midwest. Culturally, Kansas City thinks of itself as midwestern, but, in fact it is a southern culture in the midwest. Hypersegreation, 53% drop out in the high schools, seventh hightest murder rate in the nation, rampant crime, vast white suburbs (republican). So we are very excited by the results.
