Episode 01: From var to this

I don't mean at once. It could be done as half an hour episodes. Maybe the final hours are much smaller but I believe this is the reason why its so hard to start with Emacs We are used to visual helps now-a-days from C# to Clojure there are videos. Even vim has them (not much but still). All i am saying is this is really powerful tool and it deserves some sort of video production for beginners.
Let's take me for example: I am trying to make Emacs my one tool for programming for 2 years now, but i still don't know enough to match eclipse for example. Its a hard tool to learn especially if you don't have time to play with it. yes I know I'll havce to do it one way or the other but still. It would really be nice to video learn only the necessary keystrokes first and later the rest.
But don't get me wrong I like these videos, that's why i suggested the idea here. Because its this style of doing things that would go really far in my opinion.
----
Later:
Just took a look at the above mentioned emacsmovies.org!
Its great! THANK YOU!

Re: Emacs Rocks! I mean from the beginning to the professional use! There is nothing like that on the web. All the videos are short tips and tricks. The community would be much bigger if we had those sorts of videos available. AT least IMHO

Re: Clojure Data Structures - Part 1 - Clojure - blip.tv

thank you. it would be nice if there were a bit more Clojure screencasts for beginners

Re: Handle Ruby Versions EmacsRookie

What about Win version? It was an incredible piece of work! That is why I was expecting a very good 'next detective series' from the Decoder Ring Theatre.
It is probably just because the Black Jack was so good that I was so very disappointed with what I heard to this day in Slick Bracer series. The story is poorly written and jokes are mostly 3rd rate. Yes! If I would hear this on some other podcast I might even think of it in better terms since mostly they are all 3rd grade, but I guess I am exypecting much more from you guys.
And I know (since I already heard them!) that you are capable of sooo much more...

In conclusion I hope you will take this as a constructive criticism of a listener from Slovenia who was a real fan of yours and not as a mare flamer seeking for some stupid attention.

All in all your team is THE BEST I ever heard, podcast wise! So keep up the, hmm other, good work!

Your oversee listener,
Hoornet

Re: Tom Faulhaber: Lisp, Functional Programming, and the State of Flow - Clojure - blip.tv

Yap! There are sometimes particular gems problems but mostly it works.
For installation one should use 'RubyInstaller' form http://rubyinstaller.org/ and from the same site the 'Development Kit (DevKit)' for the gems that need to be compiled.
With this setup (and an IDE like Sun's NetBeans or JetBrains's RubyMine I can usually live quite well with Ruby, Rails and its company :)
But on the other side, it can be tricky sometimes, its just that these times are less and less common lately.

Re: Yes We Can.
