This looks just screams "I'm not gonna win, whatever". It's fine and fits her beautifully, but she knew she wasn't going to be holding anything gold near it so no need to go all out. I would have preferred she dress like Poor Pamela, but that's just me.

I got to see a bunch of pictures from this because I know the actor who plays Gretchen in the film (she is from Chicago) and she got to go to the L.A. premiere. The kids all looked really cute!

I guess I'll be the cheese that stands alone and say I love this. My only quibble would be the pant roll, which looks super sophomoric to me. But I love the way she is wearing the jacket, and I love the cray cray makeup with the hair - she has some sort of female Bowie thing going on. Which, full disclosure, I generally love her androgynous/genderqueer style, and this to me fits that bill. Personally I wouldn't want to see her start wearing Balmain mini-dresses.

She is THE BEST. And the black and red color scheme reminds me of one of her more memorable wigs from the show.

I like to look at the Versace and Moschino collections and really study each piece to think "what of this could I actually wear". Definitely some of the coats and jackets from this runway would be good options, but of course they lack that Versace personality (which I am too old and muscle-free for anyway). Looking at both collections though apparently there was a sale on those fringe boas...

I just love seeing her in all of these posts because it was just a little over two years ago I was watching her on a Chicago stage in a TINY non-equity theater where she was dressed like a dominatrix (a look which she can also carry). Her look is perhaps a bit much, but when I think of how far she's come in the past two years, I just think...go crazy girl!
