This looks amazing and totally makes me want to run to the store and get ingredients to make today. I am working from home because one of my boys is home sick so its a very quiet day. Do you know if this freezes well (same question as Tanya)? My kids don't like lentils but this would be great to make and freeze so I can take it to work for lunches.

And Kelly - your little girl looks JUST LIKE YOU! What a sweetheart.

Hi Christa - Happy Birthday to your two little ones. My son's birthday is 1/19 so we are gearing up for a birthday gig as well (although he's turning 14 so it will probably involve lots of video games, a pizza, and staying up WAY too late. How about two concert tickets to a show for one of his favorite country bands/singers. You can look them up online, see who is coming to your town in the next 6-9 months and get him tickets. It would give him something to look forward to!

I would love to see video of any of your recipes and cooking posts. Even when written recipes are clear and concise, nothing beats a video to illustrate how to do it. That's why all those cooking and chef channels get such high ratings. Even if the video is just a short tip with you explaining some subtle trick, tip, or variation, I bet it would be popular with readers.

I really admire moms who make their kid's costumes. My mother made a bunch of ours when we were kids (5 of us) and they were amazing. Congrats to you and you MUST post pictures when they are all dressed up :)

Hi Lori - I was surfing your site and came this post. OMG - the positions these women can get into and how they extend their backs is just insane! It must be the equivalent of modern day Cirque Du Soleil. Anyway, it made me very aware of my age and one more thing I will never do in my lifetime (bend like that, and do brain surgery).

You were way more stylish than I was at that age! I remember the catalog days - my favorite was the Sears Wish Book, the big one that came out before the holidays. LOVE the picture of you with the boots. At least Cheryl Tiegs was a bit more stable than some young Hollywood women these days.

OK, I checked out all those yummy cakes and if one were to just magically appear on my doorstep, and happened to be the Tiramisu Classico Cake, I would drop everything and find the biggest fork I have (like that one we use to flip chicken on the grill). Yea, that's my favorite :)

Happy 11th birthday to your son. They are still precious at that age. My boys are 13, 13 and 12 and they don't sit still long enough for a photo like that. So glad for you that you captured that moment!
