I still haven't abandoned PCLaw yet because it still serves 98% of my needs. Still, it's glitchy and frustrating at times. One of the strangest omissions I've seen in the web-based options including Clio and Freshbooks is the lack of a check-writing feature (quickbook style checks) and the ability to do simple day to day accounting and monthly reconciliation. Quickbooks is way too much for most firms and their invoicing system just complicates things. Outright.com came close to a simple ledger system but is targeted to 1099 employees (I think).

Thanks for the brain food!

Re: Is there a *PERFECT* law practice management solution out there?

Jack,

About #6. I knew that you had a ClientConnect system that was made for commenting on documents uploaded to Clio. But can I communicate with the client without uploading a document?

Re: What’s behind RocketLawyer’s claim of “free” forms?

Wow. That smells of the Vistaprint scam (see my reference in the original post to Vistaprint - which I PERSONALLY fell victim to.)

Re: What’s behind RocketLawyer’s claim of “free” forms?

Janet,

Do you work for RocketLawyer? If so, may I ask why the trial period signup is required?

Why not just give forms away and if customers are impressed, they'll sign up?

Requiring that a customer proactively opts out is a troubling business model, in my horribly unimportant opinion. The customer should be kicking down your doors to opt-IN if you have a superior product.

I wonder if LegalZoom has a similar model or if they are strictly a la carte?

Re: Twitter for business? That said, I am tweeting now but with no specific intent to "make a sale."

Care to shed light on how you use Twitter for business?

Re: Facebook connect callback url

Bizarre actually: a bit of background - I originally installed the facebook commenting widget which was released about month ago. Part of the process was to upload a "cross receiver" file to my site root. Though this did not appear to be a problem yesterday, it now is coming up as an issue. I've since deleted the CR file (disqus installation never required it from what I could tell)

See http://s138.photobucket.com...¤t=facebookconnectissue.png

Re: Facebook connect callback url

It appears your policy has changed within the last hour. I noticed only after I had discovered that facebook would no longer allow me to use disqus.com as the callback.

According to your recently edited help doc: http://wiki.disqus.net/Face... it appears you're now allowing us to use our base domain as the callback now? Seems Facebook doesn't give us a choice in the matter anyway.

Also, when I try to click on FB Connect (in Disqus comments), the popup just opens up my main site instead of the facebook permission page.

Please confirm.

Thanks!

Re: Top 10 Ways To Get Fired By Your Lawyer

Testing Disqus.
