Nope, I actually didn't have a child as part of this crowd. I just have had a friend of mine get into the same situation without any connections involved, and he was eligible for the diversion program.

Do some research: Every single one of the people who were ARRESTED, also got finger printed, mug shots, and went into court, where it was decided they were eligible for the diversion program.

An excuse for what? I don't have anything I need an excuse for. Denial? Nope. Pathetic? Absolutely not. I'm not getting into a discussion about race when this forum is here to discuss the article above.

Every first time offending teenager would most likely be given the same opportunity to enter into the Diversion Program. Period.

That's a bold statement to say "Everyobdy else would have had a court date." Especially when this is a program where thousands of kids get the oppotunity to participate in, just as giveitabreak said, so tell me how are they different from those kids?

Right. Had the same EXACT thing happened without the names Early or Flaherty (because the teens would have gotten the same program had they not been involved anyway), you would have not said a word about money or inlfuence. Theres a reason its a program.

Hey, typos happen. You got the idea.

And Bekind, if you read what I wrote, I am referring to the people on this forum. "...adults on this forum, of whom the party had absolutely no effect on whatsoever." No one has stated they are the neighbors or parents of these people, therefore leading me to believe they were not directly affected at all, outside of the fact they read it in the paper. I stand by my statement. And I know that some adults were affected big time, just not the ones posting here of whom I was speaking. People on here are generalizing, and someone has yet to say they were directly affected that night. I was saying, you don't see people involved complaining or whining, that's all. Sorry if you misunderstood my comment.

I never said they were responsible. They got caught which was dumb, but the saddest part is that most of the whining is coming from adults on this forum, of whom the party had absolutely no effect on whatsoever, and not from a single one of the people that got arrested. Read my post. I said they weren't stupid enough to drive; every situation is different. We don't know what really happened at this party.

And thank you, Chairman for telling me I believe what I what is type.

Chairman, I proved no points of yours. I'm entitled to think the extent of my drinking is not a bad decision, while you're entitled to think it is a horrible decision. This arguement could go on forever. I proved no points because, in my opinion and all those close to me, I don't make bad decsions anywhere near enough to result in my funeral. You are taking this to the extreme. You don't even know me, yet you think you have a right to tell ME I'm that I make bad decisions? You can't possibly take shots at my decision making ability when you have never met me.

Bottom line, these young adults got caught and are dealing with the consequences, they aren't whining, no one got hurt. Period. Nothing you say or do is going to change anything about underage drinking.

And yes, twosidestoeverystory, sadly what-ifs do happen, I agree. It's just not a valid arguement here because none of these young adults were stupid enough to get behind the wheel and drive away from this party. THe extreme what-ifs that are used in this forum are just not something I judge situations on or base decisions on.

You and everyone else on this board need to stop living your lives in what if's...it won't get you very far. So what, a few young adults got busted at a party? No one got hurt, no one died. And I'm sure someone will say "Yeah, but if they had?" But the fact is they didn't. It happens EVERY weekend. These guys got caught, and are dealing with the consequences, and I don't hear a single one of them complaining or whining about it like you said in a previous post, because they AREN'T, they are dealing with it. They don't expect anyone to feel bad for them.

And you don't even know me or all but one decision I have ever made in my life (which is to drink underage, of which you don't know the situation or anything), which by the general nature of it, means you can't judge them...unless of course you pass judgement on that which you don't know about, so go ahead keep calling them awesome, thanks :)

I love how all the most of the negative comments on here blame parents and call them bad parents or role models. You guys are absolutely ridiculous to call them bad parents and bad role models. I am under 21, drink, and my parents are the best role models I could ask for in terms of how I want my life to be. When and if you have kids aged 17-20 you are naive to think they wont be involved in drinking or underage parties. Open your eyes, its the world we live in. So all you "awesome parents" on here who think "OH, my kid would NEVER do that!" Think again.
