This is not what democracy looks like when you only allow one side of the conversation, they can boo her answers, that is fine but to shout her down without her giving her side is wrong and while I admire the undocumented youth standing up to be heard, they lose a measure of sympathy doing it this way.

Sea Shepherd Ship The M/V John Paul DeJoria was down there to help patrol for poaching and recover illegal fishing gear, in the Reserve, but complaints from poachers seemed more important than the required protections of Reserves

Sea Shepherd is taking no part in the boycott of shrimp, nor are we targeting legal fishing only poaching and illegal fishing nets. The idea is to save the Vaquita from extinction and the endangered Totoaba. Sea Shepherd is a Global movement made up of people all over the world including Mexico. Poaching is the legal fisherman's enemy not Sea Shepherd.

They reported at the scene the driver suffered an amputated leg, they tried to get her life flighted out , but all were grounded due to weather, sounded more than minor injuries.

Those who don't consider us Legit or consider us "Terrorists" are those associated with corrupt governments who wish to continue their IUUfishing or Whaling because there is more money in that than the drug industry. Sure we've made enemies, any movement who stands in the way of money making illegal operations is going to get blow back from them and their supporters we recognize that, and the more that happens the more it signifies we are doing something right.

Our Oceans are being raped of all living life, so many species are near extinction due to IUUfishing and their methods of drift-netting, Gil-netting that indiscriminately catches anything that swims into it, they call it bycatch and some of the time it is thrown back to sea dead, but the point is it is illegal and we interfere with that so while you banter over labels we enforce international laws against the use of these devices and practices that are illegal. Someone has to stand up for the ocean and if you won't do it with your pen or keyboard as it were, we will do it with our ships and our volunteers because they are killing the ocean, and as my Captain says "If the Oceans die, we all die" and as I say more than ever TheOceansMatter

So then if any kid finds any of those weapons they better not turn them in or face suspension, when are school officials ever going to do the right thing ? Reward kids who do the right thing, the boy made the school safer by turning the knife over to a school official, what's his reward? suspension when called out reduces it to 30 days ! The school board needs to re-think it's thinking process !

Is there an update to this story ? did she get her job back ? she was wrongfully discharged, all policies and rules have to be in written form to be enforceable. and certainly her response was professional and correct and baring any rule in which they already admitted did not exist in writing she was well within her rights under the 1st amendment to express.
