Thanks, rocannon, for the advice. Even tho it might be a quick fix to the problem of abusive behavior, I don't see it as a long-range solution. First off, I had missed the part about Hoax-Slayer's protectiveness; my fault. But beyond that, it is necessary that we ALL stand up and fight for what we believe, even if it hurts. When the bad-guys come out, the QUALITY of our moderator is our first line of defense. When other posters booo-out the maligners, it demonstrates the quality of those individuals, and when enough people tell the 'bad-guys' to 'get lost', it demonstrates the quality of a nation.

There are those who exercise awesome control over us. Perhaps at this point, our ONLY power we have left is the 'power of one', doing the right thing... but a lot of 'ones' WILL make a difference in the end. All ya gotta do is be committed to some great ideal, and as far as I'm concerned, there is no better ideal to follow than the good ol' US of A!

I left a comment 3 days ago, which was, to me at least, an important point of view. In response, I received an abusive email from an 'unregistered guest', un-named, of course.
I was unable to find the place on this forum where the webmasters allowed unregistered (or any other) guests access to email addresses of registered participants, so I am asking for poster-support in this matter.
It never matters what a person thinks... America allows us to express it in public forum. Obviously, abusive or unlawful talk is or should be excluded. When any individual attacks another's ideas, ESPECIALLY under the cloak of anonymity, they are actively destroying the basic concept of American idealism. Someone either doesn't believe this concept or has forgotten it.

Some of you readers may think this a trivial pursuit, compared to how you feel about Mars' 'approach'. Others of you have taken a look around at what state America is in now, and where it looks like we're heading, and may agree with my assessments. I, for one, take my country and constitution VERY seriously, and seek to resolve issues like this in OPEN forum.

In case you don't see the connection between this forum and the constitution, consider this... an attempt to control another person's expression of thoughts and ideas by 'secret' and hidden attacks is to use fear, coercion, and intimidation to prevent what most of us believe to be our birthright.... free speech. Is this what this forum is all about?

Maybe this isn't the place I would have chosen to express my pro-American viewpoints, but it is the place the battle was brought to me. I welcome your point of view in this matter, American or otherwise!

Please don't be so harsh with these internet hoaxes... sure, some of them get our juices flowing in overtime, and when revealed as hoaxes, they tend to rapid-deflate our 'pleasure-zone'. Ok, so it hurts, but ya know what? There's more here than meets the eye.

In this ever-challenging world of ours, where the 'bad guys' are constantly trying to gain control over the 'good guys', (particularly thru dis-information and disintegration of our trust in one-another), we would be wise to take these situations as opportunities to 'get a little smarter'. Maybe one day, we'll even be smart enough to undo all that the 'bad guys' have done to us, and be able to repel all who would attack our civilization with designs of world domination and control. Remember, stoopit folks are soooo easy to control!
