He has been silenced by the movement as he discredits the junk science they use to promote fear and hate.

"Now, we have learned that the 111th Congress is going to shove FDA tobacco legislation down the throats of the American public, without even so much as a public hearing to scrutinize the deal that has been forged between the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and Philip Morris."

http://tobaccoanalysis.blog...

Re: Global cancer burden increases as tobacco is embraced in emerging and middle income countries

REPORT OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

	B of T Rep. 14 - A-01

Subject:	Annual Tobacco Report 2001 (reprise)

Presented by:	D. Ted Lewers, MD, Chair

http://www.ama-assn.org/ama...

Go to page 24 for the $883.2 million figure
From the same report(pg.14) is:
Evidence Linking Cancer and Tobacco -- based on two main points:
1.Statistical evidence that certain diseases are more prevalent among smokers than non-smokers: Lung cancer, bladder cancer, cardiovascular diseases. These associations suggest that smoking may be a causative factor.

2.Physiological tests in which animals treated with smoke condensates, extracts, or compounds therefrom, suffer from increased tumor frequency....

“Statistical evidence” and “These associations suggest that smoking may be a causative factor” is hardly a scientific conclusion based on the scientific method.

Sunshinegirl you seem to be a fine articulate thinker. You are the first anti smoker I've interacted with that does not resort to ad hominem attacks and I laud you for that.

I certainly hope someone can find cures for these terrible diseases but it appears the medical community has abdicated there true purpose, of healing the sick, to social engineering.

I had once believed the same as you until I actually paid attention and discovered a flaw in the anti smoker rhetoric, in how they twist the English language. I looked further in to their claims and discovered flawed studies, twisted statistics and trickery. I realized it would be an ominous task to take them on so I tried to prove them right. The more I looked with an open mind the more I found wrong with their positions.

I truly thought someone was attempting to find cures but honest scientists have been silenced.

My main involvement in this issue is the laws being made to control smoking on private property. The anti smoker movement has successfully brainwashed the masses, including politicians. ETS has been used as a tool for social engineering. Basic toxicology is “the dose makes the poison”. IF smoking may cause cancer, and it does not in 80% of smokers, then ETS must cause it as well. That is the twisted logic I am fighting. The ETS scare has averted attention away from smoking, to include myself. The anti smoker lobby is a highly paid group of zealots that spread hatred and division throughout the world. The drug industry pushes theses groups to get smoking bans passed. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has contributed over $400 million dollars over the last 10 years (find it at their site). The JNJ stock holdings of RWJ profit nicely went nicotine replacement drugs are sold instead of tobacco profits. They are using similar under handed methods the tobacco companies used to sell their product.

The tobacco industry has made claims that their product may kill. That was a business decision they made to avert future law suits. They were also bullied by States Attorney Generals for the Master Settlement Agreement of 1998.

You have your beliefs and you have the right to think that way. I have a problem with anyone imposing their beliefs with the force of law. We are on the same page with wanting disease eradicated. Assumptions by the CDC, and other groups, are beliefs and do not fit with true science. The human exhibition that went around the country with Chinese bodies on display for education purposes contributed their own beliefs. It was later suspected the origin of the bodies were suspicious. One display was titled “a smoker's lung” that was diseased. If they did not know the origin how did they know it was a smoker's lung? It may have been a smoker's lung, the lung was diseased, it should have been titled a “diseased lung”. There are non smokers that have diseased lungs too! It is that type of trickery that makes believers out of people that do not think things through.

I have enjoyed our exchanges but my time does not allow for much more.

I wish you well.

herefreeman

Re: Global cancer burden increases as tobacco is embraced in emerging and middle income countries

Your tobacco-facts link is more indoctrination. The disease is the enemy and not the witch they are hunting. Gruesome pictures are of gruesome disease that have never been scientifically proven to be caused by tobacco. The anti tobacco zealots have diverted true science from finding a cause or cure for many diseases. Usually disease cures are found upon identifying cause, where are the cures if the cause is tobacco? There is too much money being made by anti smoking extremists who would rather blame the "witch" then find a cure. $800 million is spent annually to fight tobacco, put that money toward real science and find a cure. There is no disease that is exclusive to tobacco users. If tobacco disappeared tomorrow the diseases would remain.

Re: Global cancer burden increases as tobacco is embraced in emerging and middle income countries

What a bunch of bull. Stop the witch hunt a find a cure for cancer. Tobacco has nothing to do with it.

Re: Should smokers be paid to quit?

There needs to be more smokers "for the children". S-chip recently raised tobacco taxes so that MORE children will be insured, at a cost to tobacco users only. Who will pay for the children? Certainly not anti smokers, they are too busy making money with their social engineering through lies and deception.
