If it's recommending a server that your router is pointing to already, that's a bug worth opening.

Re: Namebench%3A+Google%26%23039%3Bs+20%25+Project+To+Find+The+Fastest+DNS%26nbsp%3BServer

This is likely due to missing VC++ libraries, which is an easy fix:

http://code.google.com/p/na...

Re: Amazing Austria

Thanks!

Re: Bones, Brno, Bratislava

Thanks! While we felt rushed, the trip wasn't too exhausting actually, at least compared to what other people try to do in the same time period. We were sure to take at least one small break every hour, which kept us from feeling entirely fatigued. You are correct though -- these memories will last a lifetime.

Re: Berlin to Prague

Thanks! It was amazing to see just how large the city was (about the same surface area as Atlanta), while it still had a good balance of transportation options. It's denser than Atlanta, but I did not see any skyscrapers either.

Re: Frankfurt am Main

I think the funniest comments I got was when my german team-mates would refer to their managers or coworks as "Oh, he's VERY german". I had not seen the (x86) directory structure before, but I guess this is the first 64-bit version of Windows I have used. It does seem a bit less elegant having a 32-bit ghetto, rather than one directory. Most users (including myself) don't really care to know which applications are 32-bit. If I did, I would view info on the application.

Re: Lookie what I brought home

I haven't actually ridden the GS yet, so it is a bit hard to say. I did order crashbars from SW-Motech, for the eventual day that I have more bravery than skill-level. I've read a bit on mind mapping, but even as a visual person have not been able to see applying it into practice. I assumed the first battery was dead because the bike had been sitting for a while before I bought it, and the second because I was charging it with no water in it. It was only the 3rd one (the AGM) that I thought was suspect.

The commute is getting better thankfully. If nothing else, it gives me plenty of time to read. It doesn't help that my wife bought me a terribly depressing 800 page book that I am reading through ("In Europe"). I look forward to seeing more naked bikes!

Re: anodized.sprocket.io

The machine has worked great. The fans were a bit louder than I wanted, so I just unplugged the case fan. I still have a PSU fan (which I can replace with a fanless PSU), and the chipset fan. I've been impressed with the performance so far!

Re: Moving Right Along…

If you want a cheap upgrade to your Dakar, drop in one of the extended-tip Iridium plugs, and get a 15T sprocket. It's not the same amount of frenzy of the F800GS, but it's certainly an improvement. If you get bored and want to test ride mine, let me know =) I'm installing a new chain on her today.

Re: Moving Right Along…

The 800GS is a heck of a fun bike. I'd sure miss the Dakar seat though!

Just as an FYI, BMW of Atlanta charges 10% of the bike cost for consignment, with a minimum charge of $500.
