It'd be one file at a time and you can use the free versions to do it; just would run into daily limits.

Also this is exactly the type of use case these tools excel at right now.

I'd honestly encourage you to take one of the files and take it to Claude or ChatGPT and try it out; totally free. And there is enough AI chatbot tools out there that you could cycle through all of them for free usage each day to get more done; though some may be slightly different outcomes. The ideal state is you come up with a good prompt through trial and error that tells it exactly what you want to get done and once you are getting good results you just re-use the prompt and give it a different HTML to update.

There is a little learning curve to get a good prompt but even that it can help you with; just ask it questions and request it create a prompt for what you want to get done! And since this is HTML its easy for you to give a quick run through to feel confident its not adding some sort of compromised code in.

Re: Blog Makeover 2026 Edition - Aywren's Nook | Gaming & Geek Blog

It's still a hands on experience; just less writing the code and more speaking the code into existence while the AI takes care of the actual coding. I can understand if that's not of interest. Not here to shill for any one in particular; Claude Code is probably the most commonly mentioned one. In my work life I've seen some mind blowing stuff that has me less AI skeptical than I was before and selfishly hopeful smaller dev teams can utilize these tools to deliver big MMOs to us in the near future :)

Another use case would be having it take care of your "find and replace" work where you need to update a large number of pages; the AI tools excels at that sort of task. Though for any sort of volume or automation efforts you'd likely need to be on a paid tier vs free.

And keep in mind you don't need to have the tool write the code for you; it is great for just having an always on consultant to bounce things off. Why didn't this work? Why am I getting X error? Why doesn't this look right in Chrome but does fine in Firefox? The AI chatbots are infinitely better search options than Googling around and can surface a fountain of additional knowledge and answer questions and help explain things; and can understand specific context to your situation better than a web search ever will.

Re: Blog Makeover 2026 Edition - Aywren's Nook | Gaming & Geek Blog

Curious if you are, or are looking at/interested in, any AI "vibe coding" toolsets to help in your endeavors? Even if it were possible it wouldn't be very attractive to many of us to play a private server. The promise of this game is where it was going to be at the ten year mark. We were just on that upswing :(

I also think you are spot on about Amazon not being a game company so there is no incentive to let it limp along in a limited state. It's an expense and it was cut. Honestly surprised there was the intent to run it for a year.

Re: Heartlessgamer.com: Howling Good New World Aeternum News!

Depressing to come back and read this in light of the news that Amazon is ending development of the game. I've not really played an extraction shooter myself other than dabbling in modes in other games. I get some folks don't like PvP but I think it adds a lot to what will make ARC Raiders a great game. Throw in they aren't forcing wipes and I think its a good package for a lot of us that "play a lot" but aren't necessarily hardcore gamers.

Re: Heartlessgamer.com: The EA Buyout is Weird

Working for a company that has gone through the public > private > back to public route I can identify with the "smash and grab that will loot the value and leave the carcass for the vultures".

Re: New World’s Horror-Themed ‘Nighthaven’ Season Looks So Good It Has Players Eager to Dive Back into the MMORPG

Has it improved? Yes; it has tons of improvement and has kept the core action combat that makes the game what it is. The biggest changes were around redoing the entire main story quest which culminated in the New World Aeternum soft relaunch of the game. They've also added mounts, swimming, multiple PvP game modes, numerous PvP maps, end game raids, end game mutated expeditions (aka dungeons), and changed progression systems around a couple of times (with another big change to the end game progression coming in the Nighthaven update next week).

New World is an easy game for me to recommend. I'd argue it is one of the best MMOs on the market and lots of players are sleeping on it. It's biggest issue has simply been the slow speed of new content updates; they spent too long redoing the main story of the game vs producing net new content. Now that we are passed that phase and we are getting Nighthaven the question will be can we get another Nighthaven-level update within a reasonable timeframe (i.e. it can't be another 2 years).

Re: Heartlessgamer.com: Are we losing faith in Ashes of Creation?

I am just glad I burned myself out on following MMOs the generation before the kickstarter MMOs came about; otherwise I'd probably be 500 posts deep on this blog about Ashes of Creation and hundreds of dollars lighter in the pocket having backed more (to date have only backed Camelot Unchained).

Still find it interesting to dip in here and there to see what is going on.

Re: Enshrouded: Fighting the Fell Dragon Youngling - Aywren's Nook | Gaming & Geek Blog

I played it mostly with my oldest son and that is actually why I dislike most of the Zelda inspired aspects as I felt that really detracted from what could be better multiplayer.

I am curious though how it will shape up for it's actual "release" version so may double back to it at that point. With EA's intent to go big with the game (supposedly wanting 100 million+ players) I'd hope performance is good for your setup. But that is not what Ashes is doing. Ashes is making an "attack anyone at anytime" game and I see it as a fools errand to think you can police that. If you make the system that way then don't be surprised when real life motivations drive player behavior (i.e. a disliked streamer getting chased out of town).

Re: Heartlessgamer.com: Pirating Ashes of Creation

Then what about the numerous other reports from alpha testers of getting harassed/constantly killed that saw no intervention?

Also what is the "common sense" definition here? A player was killed repeatedly because players don't like them? Now I can't kill players I don't along with? Do I need to make sure I never miss a direct message from an in-game GM telling me I'll be banned if I kill the player in front of me? If the game doesn't want me killing players then why does it have all these systems? Why aren't new players protected more; it's their fault they left the safe zone.

The only "common sense" part of Steven's interview statements were "If I (Steven) tell you to stop and you don't then you will be banned".

Re: Heartlessgamer.com: Helene Update Day 12: Hoping Milton Stays South

No doubt and I count myself fortunate compared to those just north of us in western NC.
