Congratulations! After I read about your decision and all the opinions about it, I decided to keep mine quiet. I feel everyone has the right to do as they please, when they please when they've done the type of work that you have done over the years. Who am I to opine about your decisions?

You've done amazing/trailblazing public relations/social media work on the client side in the past, there's no reason to believe you won't be able to expand on that success as you'll now work on the agency side.

I wish you nothing but continued success and good health to you and your family. Thank you for continuing to keep us abreast of your work online; I'm sure I speak for many when I say I'm eager to hear about the agency-side challenges you're about to confront.

Thank you, Tom! This was well-written; I couldn't agree more with your point. It's interesting how so many major corporations are interested in the 'What' more than the 'Why'? As you laid it out, it is extremely important how you get the 'Why'.

I recommend this read, I know of many corporations that should redo their focus groups/market surveys/field marketing exercises after reading this....

Hola Esteban...I really don't know how I feel about this concept. I currently have a love/hate relationship with Path. There is room for social networks, even closed ones; the question is will they be able to maintain an active community...? Not easy. I'm perplexed...

I think you framed the home office/commercial space argument perfectly.

I work from home like yourself and unless I ramp up with staff, feel no need to change-especially with all the technological mobility platforms/devices currently available.

Shevonne, first off, congratulations! Congratulations for having the drive to do life differently and experience new things not only for yourself but also for your family. They are all interesting choices, each with pros & cons but I would push for Panamá since I think it would be great if your children could experience their heritage first-hand for an extended period of time.

My favorite moment with my father? I would have to say the time he took my family to the 1990 World Cup in Italy and we were sitting in a plaza in Milan after the shocking 1-1 Colombia-West Germany tie. We had just attended the monumental games and he, being born in Colombia with I, being born in the US, were reflecting on not only how BIG that tie was for Colombia but watching Germans dance Colombian cumbia in the plaza with Colombians. That's when it all made sense to me: my father showed me other cultures and how we could get along, no matter what our differences are. We even got up and danced as well. ::)
