Actually, if I witnessed it in your situation, I would have been pretty traumatised too! To console you of your guilt, here's my witness account of a worse bird murder before! A baby bird had fallen from its nest near Milsons point during a school excursion, and a girl didn't notice it at all and stepped on it with her platform school shoes! There was an audible splat and splatter of guts that no one noticed except for me. I was too traumatised to tell the girl and she just kept on standing on it while talking to her friends.

OMG. I miss Nerds and Kopiko coffee lollies! Did you also used to like Wizz Fizz? I used to delight in its resemblance to the hardcore drugs I saw in HK mafia movies. Also, when a student of mine took out a roll up during recess last week, I went insanely nostalgic and scared them all. I also miss gobstoppers and hubba bubba!

I've only been to Tokonoma for drinks, but the drinks that I tried there (except for the mocktails) were really amazing - you should definitely try their cocktails next time!

Hey, I'm so glad you're settling in! I miss you! I saw a porcelain flute thing shaped like an owl in Taiwan and thought of you. I really really like the photos you have taken + the way that you have processed them. I don't know how you can manage to keep up a blog soph! I tried to blog during HK/Taiwan and stopped after a day or two. It's so laborious! Can't wait to see what other exciting stuff you get up to.
