I would be slightly less pissed off (but only slightly) were it not for the fact that I've booked flights for my Easter skiing trip which leave on Friday afternoon - am now going to have to miss a tutorial, and the Law Society & my law firm will not like that, at all.

There's a good commentary from Jezebel.com here (http://jezebel.com/5140840/peta-disgusts-americans-with-adolescent-advertising) about the advert- and how people in the advertising industry think it's just a stunt, that PETA never intended it to run and simply wanted the publicity they'd get from having the advert rejected by NBC.

Fantastic! I don't have any egg cups at home because they always seems like such a silly purchase as I don't have boiled eggs very often - but now I know that shot glasses will do the trick!

It's a natural thing to do in any situation where there's a league table, be it schools, universities, hospitals or companies. It's one of the really negative aspects to them, that whilst they allow for comparison and give an incentive to improve, they also inherently generate snobbery. I'm a law student and there's definitely a bit of competitiveness/snobbery over which law firm you're going to train with.
