thx, gute anmerkungen - wir sind glaub ich näher beieinander, als du merkst, haha, nur haben wir einen anderen 'blick' bzw. 'hauptwert' (dich interessiert das asymptotisch als markt/maschine zur erzeugung von märkten, mich eher 'semiotisch'/als maschine zur sozialen erzeugung von sinn. einige aspekte die für dich zentral sind sind bei mir egal (twitter als organisation zb kommt bei mir eher als störende umwelt vor, die derzeit im möglichen übergang zu einer den datentyp tweet zerstörenden klimakatastrophe steht))

'ansprechbarkeit' ist ein suboptimales wort, bemerke ich, es geht mir mit dem handle eher um den umstand, für ein subjekt ein 'permalink' zu haben. (die anzahl ist da aber fast egal, es geht nur um die möglichkeit einer selbstselektion). tweets als 'referenzpunkte' würde ich aber verteidigen, die universelle aufwertung dazu entsteht imo im venn-diagramm mit den anderen eigenschaften eines tweets, die allen anderen optionen fehlt.

ein match off twitter vs tiktok wäre insgesamt lustig zu simulieren, da fehlt mir aber doch noch die intuition, was das primäre SO ist.

bin kein psychiater, aber als ferndiagnose würde ich dahinter fast einen gewissen narzissmus vermuten. du hast halt gemacht, was du eigentlich machen wolltest, dafür war aber notwendig, von einigen falschen grundannahmen auszugehen (das würde auch erklären, warum es schwergefallen ist, das zu erkennen). und phylogenetisch funktioniert tech so gut, weil wir primär auf die wahrnehmung von differenzen konditioniert sind. es reicht uns schon aus, wenn irgendwas ein bisschen besser oder plötzlich machbar wird, dann sind wir schon happy (deshalb ist auch die zukunftssicherheit irrelevant). grundsätzlich ist es aber nicht schwer, unsere technologischen non sequiturs zu erkennen, wobei das gesellschaftlich vermutlich aber gar nicht wünschenswert wäre, weil ja das basteln selbst fähigkeiten generiert/aktualisiert (eine alternative zu latein ist, wenn man so will). ich zumindest habe deine kreative energie diesbezüglich immer bewundert.

But why is Dr. Will coming in to moderate a panel where the jury is encouraged to appreciate good game play? If voting is just about liking one player more than the other this segment and even the jury questions would be unnecessary and everyone just votes with his guts.

I overall agree with you though, but evaluating the what and how of a player should not be binary but on a scale. It's perfectly fine for jurors to have their own red lines and if they are crossed the vote is lost (swearing on the bible to a religious person like Dan, being a total jackass like Paul, ...), but being aware of the fact that one player clearly was the mastermind and still vote for the other even if you don't really like him just since he too got you out I'd still consider bitter. 'Will you be a bitter juror or will you vote for the better player?' is also the returning question from Ika in the preseason interviews.

(there also seem to be a couple of generally accepted reasons (alliance member, showmance, ..) for voting for the worse game player)

Anyhow, Tyler dropped the ball with Scottie himself. If he didn't ignore him the whole week, maybe even if he'd changed his gbm to "Scottie, our friendship was real, but I've got two secrets: I'm a superfan like you and I've been in an alliance with Brett, KC and Angela since week 1. I'm sorry but I could not tell you and I hope you understand that I had to vote you out again" he probably would have gotten his vote and won.

Wow, what a rundown.

But I think Taran gets one fundamental thing wrong in his final assessment of Tylers gameplay (has a great social game but lacks the strategic ability of top tier players, does not create logical arguments to persuade people but has to rely on emotional appeal to get out of troubles):

While it's safe to say that Tyler strategically is not playing a Vanessaean/game theoretically optimzed game, it's not his likabilty, emotions or his trusting eyes which get him out of troubles, but a new/different type of strategic game.

(afaics his main emotional manoeuvre was to cry in front of Steve after nominating him, which oddly enough might have been one of his best moves since it set him up being perceived as a weak but nice guy)

I think his defining strength is to adapt a strategically constructed narration specific to each and every player individually and to tell everyone only the story they need to hear to feel good about him and nothing else. He also has an uncanny ability to keep those stories in sync, consistent and to always tie up all lose ends.

In a way Tyler is not playing one master game, but 15 different strategic games with 15 different people - and unlike Dan or Vanessa he hardly ever had to rely on emotions to keep them in line (he didn't have to cry 24/7 and he never had to swear on the bible, get the house crying in funerals, hand out collaterals or continuously emotionally stress out his protege to stay in the game). His social game was a prerequisite, but it was not emotions but a masterfully crafted ensemble of stories which kept him on top of the game.

Since the jury is totally volatile isn't it a moot point to strategize about whom to take to the final two? Foutte probably is the controlling voting block, but they might vote out of spite for the worse player, but then they might think Angela oder KC actually played the better game and Tyler was just their goat and hence vote for Tyler, but then they might want to vote for a woman to win, but then Fessy might vote for the wrong person because he votes to evict instead of win, and the list of unknown variables goes on.

There simply is no way to make an informed decision, but the best bet for Tyler might be to cut KC if he wins HOH at F3, since this guarantees 550k for him and Angela as a couple instead of risking going home with 50k and a sour girlfriend, especially since he knows Foutte despises Angela and might like KC. At the same time he should never mention even thinking about taking Angela, so that if KC wins final HOH he can plausible deny that this thought ever crossed his mind and claim that she was his ride or die since day 2.

(the situation was different with neda/jon in bbcan since the prize money is not life changing and the jury never was a coin flip)

Isn't it a no-brainer for L6 to vote out Haleigh over Fessy? Fessy will fight for his life to battle back if he is evicted - but will happily self-evict if Haleigh is, all JC has to do is tell him that Scottie will try to hook up with her in the jury house, which might have been Scotties plan all along?

On a sidenote: I think JCs agency on the game is a bit overrated, especially by himself. He generates a ton of mischievous and entertaining plans for sure, but the primary reason those plans actually worked so far was that they were aligned with L6 without him being aware of them.

It's kinda symptomatic that Tyler is the victim of one of the most ridiculously overpowered twists and still has a 80% chance to keep himself in the game (winning pov or the battle back which more likely than not would be suited for him). I guess it's a blessing in disguise because if he weasels himself out of this situation and wins in the end he'll probably become a top-tier player alongside Will and Dan.

Great update. Oddly enough after the nominations and explanations the
persona of Sam finally makes sense to me. She is the subdued, hard
working mother of 10 who at the same time runs a tightly controlled
matriarchic ship. And while all her children are treated and fed
equally (every child should have the experience of playing for the veto,
becoming hoh or being a have-not at least once) and and also get the
very same pep talk at least once a week, some of the kids/boys (namely
prince Tyler and duckling Scottie) have a special place in her heart and
she needs to fend off any seduction by females (fatale), who might want
to steal them away. She's almost reminiscent to the mother in
Hitchcock's The Birds.

(just on a sidenote: I don't get why
Kaitlyn didn't call out her hypocrisy regarding gameplay; her primary
justification for voting against Swaggy C in week 2 was that the only
reason was tit for tat since it was Wilson who voted for her to stay in
week 1; and then she puts Kaitlyn, who actually saved her ass in week 1,
on the block at the very first time possible)

wir werdens nie erfahren.. aber nur von den kräften her etwas phantasiert: der ganze raum hätte sich anders entwickelt, wenn sich google dahinter gestellt und ein bisschen geblasen hätte. nicht nur, weil der GR auch in den analytics der publisher eine zumindest nicht vernachlässigbare falte hinterlassen hätte (die durch die fragmentierung dann gwm. unsichtbar wurde) und vl. der eine oder andere nicht auf die schlachtbank FB gesprungen wäre. vor allem auch, weil es ein default gegeben hätte, siehe http://hackr.de/2013/03/14/...

(den indies könnte es heute trotz GR viel besser gehen, weil sie vl. nur noch 25% an den anteilen aber von einem viel viel grösseren kuchen mit den interessantesten benutzern hätten, weil sich der bereich auf höherem niveau ausdifferenzieren würde usw.)

ah, thx, an instapaper hab ich gar nicht gedacht, weil ich auf pocket umgestiegen bin. sie haben aber praktischerweise sogar ein 'send to kindle' bookmarklet das man on demand triggern kann.
