my kids were home schooled. they are all grown up with their own kids. they are self starters and have their own businesses.

let us remind the U.S. that the most violent terrorist attacks and wanton shooting of innocent people have occured in the U.S., not the Philippines. The shootings were even in school campuses and even had a lady member of congress as a victim.

Investing in the stock market can actually be seen as a business on its own. It takes planning and strategy and a lot of research to convert this into a personal business. For example, if you understand the telecom business,you can participate in that business by buying PLDT or Globe shares. You can measure future return by looking at the earnings potential and historical dividend yield. If you do the proper research you can receive regular earnings either from buy and hold or trading strategies.

I think the wealth should not be the object of your pursuit. Wealth is the result of pursuing a worthy endeavor. An example that I can think of is becoming a financial guru. Gurus like Warren Buffet became wealthy not because they pursued it. He chose the discipline of investing to fulfill his life. As a result he became extremely wealthy. Same thing was with Bill Gates. When he had the passion to develop operating systems, he had no idea that he would be a millionaire. It is the pursuit of a higher ideal that brings wealth, even money.

GE Capital which is the financial operations subsidiary of General Electric recently sold its GE money Bank in the Philippines to Banco de Oro in exchange for shares in BDO. While it was unfavorable banking experience that led GE to abandon direct banking operations in this country, acquiring shares in a local bank instead of selling out for cash is something very encouraging. This means that GE wants to continue its engagement in the business life of this country.

I agree with the principle completely. Most people who eventually run into a fortune find it by doing what they love to do with a passion. Even with successful fund managers, the reason for their success was their passion to beat the market. So they spend a good portion of their life in deep thought and analysis of stocks, interest rates and markets, rather than thinking of money.

I took out the 2009 already. I just copied and pasted it earlier as it was. Anyway, I already posted my blog for tomorrow morning for stock market participants who are following it already. FYI, I get around 75 to as high as 195 hits on my site a day based on the Blog stats on wordpress. since I started in May this year there have been 6,611 hits up to today. I hope I can reachout to some of your readers too.Thanks for your support.
