Larry, what are you using the 100 for currently? I think what my biggest challenge is with old hardware is figuring out what to run on it. My iBook G4 is just sitting on a shelf, waiting for me to decide what to do with it. Ditto a G4 iMac (the daisy). I know I could be running all matter of servers, etc., but my hardware cache is far outstripping my available time to putter stash. ^WebW

For the large part I agree. And I still prefer a real book to an ebook for so many different reasons. Yes, the tangibility of a book as an object is crucial. And there are many books that I know I'll either read again or pass on to others. And insofar as newspapers are concerned, *NOTHING* offers the same crossword puzzle experience like newsprint and a mechanical pencil.That said, I love the fact that with an eBook, I can get a 1-time-read pulpy action thriller, read it through and be done with it without the need to dispose of/giveaway a paperback.I wonder if our children's children will look at our (the current generations) insistence that there is nothing that can adequately replace the book experience as we look upon, say, horse-drawn carriage builders. Arguably, an eBook is a completely different and new content delivery method. Whether it replaces the dead-tree versions of books is yet to be seen.

Your comment is prompting me to update this entry. In answer to your question, there _is_ a missing step. The writer of this post has been flogged for its omission.

Tumblr

1) Log in to your Tumblr account.
2) Select Blog Settings. The URL will look something like this: www.tumblr.com/blog/YOURBLO....
3) Scroll down about halfway.
4) There you should see a listing for Post by Email. Copy this email listing into your Address Book or Contacts. I gave the contact the name "Post by Mail".
5) Now when you're ready to send a link as outlined above, simply address the email to "Post by Mail" (or whatever you named the contact) and that gets it sent to the right place.

Posterous

1) Send sent the email to YOURBLOGSNAMEHERE [at symbol] Posterous.com. <--this is supposed to be in normal email address format. For some reason, Disqus keeps garbling it.
2) There is no step two. Your emailed podcast will post straight to your Posterous account.

I know we lose points for not going hardcore and seeing it in the rain, but it runs through the end of the month and spirits would be, on the whole, much higher with dry weather. D'oh! We're rolling out new authors for the blog and Twitter responders over the next few weeks. We don't want to loose the juice that our current "griffintech" has and muddy the water with multiple Griffin-related handles, so signing our work with a ^FirstName seems like a good option. While it won't be a problem for people like ^Michael or ^Rachel, say, it does seem to point out an issue with me (Web Webster). Maybe ^WebWebster confuses less?
